Morning update:
Republican hold outs caved and flipped their vote (not surprised 🤨).
We just need 4 Republicans, out of 40+ who’ve slammed the Medicaid cuts or opposed adding $5 trillion to the debt, to put their constituents first and kill the bill.
Hey, Republican House Members: Grow. A. Spine.

A quick midnight update from the U.S. Capitol. Right now, House Republicans don’t have the votes.
🤔 Why? Because this bill sucks and they know it. A few of them told me why they’re holding out. Listen in.
Cutting Medicaid is straight up dangerous. People will die. We need to invest in health care, not gut it.
The fight isn’t over. Keep showing up. Call your representatives.
Nuestro país se encuentra en una crisis de cierre de hospitales rurales, y el “Big Ugly Bill” empeorará la situación.
Los hospitales cerrarán. Morirá gente. Este proyecto de ley es peligroso. Voy a votar no.
Here’s an update of where we’re at ⬇️
House Republicans don’t have the votes. Don’t let up the pressure. Stay loud and keep engaging.
🚨 From the steps of the US Capitol, I said HELL NO to the Republicans’ Big Ugly Bill.
It leaves the middle class behind, slashes support for the most vulnerable, and gives billions in tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy.
I’ll keep fighting to protect our values and our future. Keep sounding the alarm.
Where will your loved ones go in an emergency? Your rural hospital? Think again.
We’re already in a rural hospital closure crisis, and the Big Ugly Bill will make it worse.
❌ I’m a hell NO on the Republicans’ Big Ugly Bill, and you should be too.
It raises health care costs for everyone, slashes food assistance for children, veterans and seniors, and increases the national debt by $5 trillion, just to hand tax breaks to billionaires.
Stay loud. Stay engaged.

Ok, so Republicans just introduced a 900 page bill none of them have read. But my team is going through it line by line and on this 🧵you can see the hidden provisions we found. Will update all day.
1/ NEW Medicaid cuts, so now 17 million - instead of 16M - lose health care.
🚨 Senate Republicans are rushing to pass Trump’s “Big Ugly Bill,” a dangerous plan that guts health care and slashes food assistance, all while giving $1 trillion in tax breaks to billionaires.
Our communities can’t afford these cruel cuts. Speak out. Share this post.
Read my statement on the Supreme Court’s decision to limit the authority of federal district courts to issue nationwide injunctions and the litigation to protect birthright citizenship.
If a student used fake citations, they’d fail the assignment.
Secretary Kennedy must’ve missed that lesson. I give the MAHA report an F.
As an ER doctor, I’ve seen firsthand how Emergency Medical Treatment & Labor Act (EMTALA) saves lives. When a woman’s life is at risk during pregnancy, she has the right to emergency care, no matter what state she’s in.
This isn’t politics. It’s lifesaving care, and it’s the law of the land.

🚨 We are back myth-busting in the Congress.
Let’s take a look at RFK’s dishonest anti-science and anti-health agenda as he testifies to @energycommerce.bsky.social.
CC @repraulruizmd.bsky.social
Did RFK Jr. even care to fact check his own MAHA report?
The Imperial Valley holds the key to America’s clean energy future, but our communities are still waiting for the investment they deserve.
That’s why I pressed U.S. Dept of Energy and Secretary Chris Wright to visit, listen, and see firsthand the strength and potential of our region.

Gutting clean air protections will lead to more serious health consequences for everyday people -- all while Republicans are trying to slash our health care.
Thank you @energycommerce.bsky.social Dems for fighting against these dangerous Republican proposals to gut vital clean air safeguards.
