Bernard Sanders

Bernard "Bernie" Sanders is an American politician and activist serving as the senior United States senator from Vermont, a seat he has held since 2007. He is the longest-serving independent in U.S. congressional history, but maintains a close relationship with the Democratic Party, having caucused with House and Senate Democrats for most of his congressional career and sought the party's presidential nomination in 2016 and 2020. Sanders has been viewed as one of the main leaders of the modern American progressive movement.

Over 130 UAW Local 95 workers with Mercyhealth in Wisconsin are striking for better wages and affordable health insurance. It is absurd that medical workers cannot afford their own health care. Mercyhealth needs to come to the table with a fair offer for their workers NOW.

My colleagues and I strongly condemn the effort to expel MK Ayman Odeh from the Israeli Knesset, which is a direct response to Odeh’s brave calls for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. If Israel is going to call itself a democracy, it must tolerate peaceful dissent.
