The only thing Americans saw last night was a very rich president trapped in a bubble, forced by his advisors to give a speech that he didn’t want to give. Instead of giving Americans a plan on lowering costs, Trump played the blame game. Americans deserve better.
On January 1st, millions of Americans will be locked in to higher premiums or priced out of health care all together. The damage has been done and Americans will know that it's all thanks to Republicans.
NEWS: Unemployment is at 4.6%—the highest in FOUR YEARS! This is what Donald Trump’s so-called “A++++” economy looks like: Higher costs, more tariffs, and the highest unemployment since COVID.
Today is the last day for Americans to sign up for January marketplace coverage. Over the next two weeks, millions will see skyrocketing premium amounts deducted from their bank account. All thanks to Donald Trump and Republicans who are refusing to extend the ACA tax credits.
This briefing comes after weeks of pressure from myself and other Senate Democrats to ensure all senators hear from this Administration, who seem to be afraid to provide even the most basic answers. The American people deserve oversight. We intend to deliver it.
NEWS: Following my repeated demands, there will be an all-Senators briefing TOMORROW with Secretaries Hegseth and Rubio on this Administration's rogue and reckless actions in the Caribbean.
The American people made clear they wanted the ACA tax credits extended. Republican inaction will send premiums soaring. Democrats will hold them accountable for their destructive negligence.
Instead of lowering premiums, Republicans chose instead to rip away healthcare funding, kick millions off insurance, and close rural hospitals. Why? So they could give their billionaire buddies a tax break. Today, they’ll have an opportunity to do the right thing. The American people are watching.
For many Americans, affording healthcare is the difference between life and death—will Republicans side with them, or will they abandon American families as premiums shoot through the roof on January 1st? Our bill is the last train to leave the station.
While Trump was mocking affordability and giving himself an A++++ on the economy: Voters in Georgia and Florida gave him a BIG FAT F. Yet another warning shot from the ballot box. Americans are tired of paying more for the things they need.
It takes a special kind of delusion to tell parents to buy their kids fewer toys and pencils while bragging about building a new White House ballroom and gold in the Oval Office.
Trump: "You can give up certain products. You could give up pencils. Because under the China policy, every child can get 37 pencils. They only need 1 or 2. They don't need that many. You always need steel. You don't need 37 dolls for your daughter. 2 or 3 is nice. So we're doing things right."
Anyone listening to Donald Trump’s speech last night could see that he simply does not get what Americans are struggling through. He is trapped in his billionaire bubble.
Tonight, Trump is giving a BS speech on affordability in Pennsylvania. But here’s what he and his administration really think about it - in their own words:
INFLATION: Trump promised to “defeat” inflation. But 57% of Americans believe Trump is LOSING the battle against inflation. Now, he’s on his way to give a speech in PA TONIGHT to feed you fake news about soaring costs because he’s desperate and feeling the heat.
