Schumer: "They've actually put tariffs on penguins but not Putin."

TONIGHT: @schumer.senate.gov joins @lawrenceodonnell.msnbc.com on The #LastWord at 10pm ET.
Democrats are exposing the Republican budget on the floor of the U.S. Senate.
Because with their budget:
Billionaires win. Families lose.
Trump’s tariffs are one of the most disastrous and poorly thought-out policies he’s tried yet. And that’s saying a lot.
It’ll cost the average American family $5,000 more each year.

Guess Republican Senator Blackburn changed her mind since 2018 about passing the debt onto future generation.
Since she’s about to add...
*checks notes*
$37 trillion to the national debt.

“What are we gonna do about our national debt? Long term this is the greatest threat to our national security as well as our economy.”
2023 Sen. Marshall should talk to 2025 Sen. Marshall
Because he's gonna flip flip on his grave concern and vote to add $37 trillion to the debt

Hey here’s Republican Senator Cassidy in April said he wanted to figure out how to pay for extending the Trump tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans.
But now he’s gonna flip flop and vote to add $37 trillion to the debt.
So guess he didn't mean it.

Here’s just how concerned Senator Barrasso was about the debt in 2013.
Don’t worry though. Now he’s about to vote to add $37 trillion to the debt.
Another Republican flip flop.

“While the national debt poses a significant economic risk, it also imposes significant security risks.”
That’s right. A Republican flip flop from Senator Cornyn who said this in 2023.
Now he’s gonna vote to add $37 trillion to the debt.
Womp womp.
And the rich get richer.
Democrats will expose Republicans’ attacks on American families.
This is the Republican agenda, plain and simple:
Billionaires win
American families lose
Senate Republicans have begun the process to pass their legislation that eviscerates Medicaid, all to pay for tax cuts for the ultra rich.
Billionaires win, American families lose.
We are going to expose this awful bill.

“The transcendent issue of our era, which is deficit and debt, until we fix that problem, we can’t fix America.”
—Senator McConnell in 2013
But now? He’s about to vote to add $37 trillion to the debt
Republicans gonna flip flop

Another Republican. Another Flip Flop.
“I’m actually not comfortable with increasing the debt.” —Senator Lankford (R-OK), November 5, 2017
Except Senator Lankford did vote to add trillions to the debt then.
And he’s about to add $37 trillion to the debt now.

Look at that, “Republicans Gonna Flip Flop”
“Do you think you can still pay for extending your tax cuts without cutting both Medicaid and Medicare?”
“Yeah. Absolutely.” —Donald Trump, February 19, 2025
False.

Oh another, “Republicans Gonna Flip Flop”
“Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, we’re not talking about in any way reducing benefits.” —Speaker Johnson, March 11, 2025
Ain’t true.

Republicans Gonna Flip Flop!
“If I thought for a second that this bill is going to add to the deficit, I wouldn’t vote for it.” —Senator Kennedy (R-LA), November 28, 2017
But he did vote to add trillions to the debt then.
And he’s about to add $37 trillion to the debt now.
