The cruelty is the point. Trump’s goal is to distract you from rising gas prices, his aimless war, ICE abuses, and the Epstein files. Don’t give him what he wants.
And may Robert Mueller, a US Marine and lifelong public servant, rest in peace.
BREAKING: I’m bringing a motion to the floor to FULLY FUND TSA.
Republicans Senators will be forced on the record: they can either vote to fund TSA for good or be fully responsible for its continued shutdown.
This is pathetic. Clearly, they don’t want to defend what they know they can’t defend.
We need public hearings with Hegseth and Rubio under oath so the American people can get answers about the end game and the price they’re paying for Trump’s war.
Americans are being forced to choose between life-saving medicine and everyday necessities, all while Trump requests $200 billion more for his war.
Remember, extending the ACA tax credits for more than 20 million Americans would have cost LESS THAN HALF of that.
This is Donald Trump’s America.
As we have all week, Democrats will continue to hold the floor to block the Republican voter suppression SAVE Act.
And as I’ve said all week: We will not let this bill pass under any circumstances, no matter how long it takes.
For $200 billion, we could invest in jobs, in science, in manufacturing, and we could begin fixing our power grid.
For $200 billion, we could cut hunger in this country in half.
For $200 billion, we could educate a generation and unleash the immense potential of our students.
For $200 billion we could lower health care premiums for tens of millions of Americans.
If Trump wants $200 billion, it means he believes we may be at war for a very, very long time.
That’s the last thing Americans want.
In a few minutes Democrats will be giving Republicans a FIFTH chance to pay TSA workers.
Will they finally fund TSA or once again object?
Trump promised to cut people's electricity bills in half by the end of his first year in office. Instead, they've risen by almost triple the rate of inflation.
Donald Trump says he’s hoping China will help us clear the Strait of Hormuz. Are you kidding me?
Donald Trump created a mess in the Middle East, and he clearly has no plan for how to end it.
Not a single Senate Democrat will support the SAVE Act. Not this week. Not next week. Not ever.
We will oppose it on the floor as long as it takes.
Trump and Republicans think rising gas prices are “a small price to pay”—they should try to tell that to Americans who must now choose between filling their tank and putting food on the table.
Donald Trump is Putin’s puppet.
Always has been, always will be.
Democrats are ready to fund TSA. Republicans are blocking it. Democrats are ready to fund CISA. Republicans are blocking it. Democrats are ready to fund FEMA. And Coast Guard. Republicans are blocking it.
My statement on the Temple Israel Attack in West Bloomfield, Michigan:
To my Republican colleagues: If you care about TSA, don't talk the talk, walk the walk.
I just chased Leader Thune off the Senate floor.
The Senate GOP can't win this argument. Fund TSA now.
