Americans depend on the @cpsc.gov to keep dangerous products away from our families - especially our kids. Yet, the Trump Administration’s budget request proposes to eliminate the agency. Our country needs and deserves a strong, independent consumer watchdog. Lives are at stake.
The power of the people is greater than the people in power. I joined hundreds of @seiu.org members on a sweltering DC day to make our voices heard loud and clear. Medicaid is a lifesaver. We can’t let the GOP rip away health care from millions to give tax cuts to billionaires.
Today, the Supreme Court ruled that states can cut off Medicaid funding to Planned Parenthood. People all over will be cut off from their breast exams, vaccines, mental health care, and so much more. I just joined protests outside the court because health care is a human right.
Ten years ago, the Supreme Court ruled that love is love!🏳️‍🌈❤️ We're grateful to all the advocates who made their voices heard, whether in the streets or around the dinner table. There'll be more victories to come. We'll keep marching on until we establish equal rights for all.
Donald Trump gutted the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and it cost Americans $18 billion. Higher bank fees, dropped enforcement cases, and zero accountability. This is what deregulation looks like: a gift to big banks, paid for by working families.
Trump's CFPB rollback has cost Americans $18 billion, consumer groups say reut.rs/4kVg9UC
For my entire career, I’ve worked to advance reproductive freedom, and I'm not backing down now. Today, I'm proud to join my @reprocaucus.bsky.social Caucus colleagues in reintroducing the Women’s Health Protection Act. Abortion is health care, and health care is a fundamental human right.
I’ll always remember the horrifying story of my friend’s back-alley abortion pre-Roe v. Wade. Now, three years after the rogue Supreme Court overturned Roe, we're hearing the same devastating accounts. Women are dying because they can't access lifesaving abortion care.
Marely is now almost two years old. She enjoys playing with her toys, watching Ms. Rachel, and learning how to crawl.   Medicaid is a lifeline.   We owe it to our families and health care workers to stand up against those attempting to tear down this lifesaving program.
Meet Marley. At only three months old, she had a successful heart transplant.   Medicaid is the reason Marely’s family can afford her portable ventilator, feeding tube, nursing support, and medical crib.   The GOP’s proposed cuts to Medicaid would hurt countless children, in addition to Marely.
Marely Chavarria Santos requires 24/7 care after receiving a heart transplant covered by Medicaid. The U.S. Senate is considering slashing the program.
I said it before, and I’ll say it again: the overwhelming majority of Americans DO NOT want war in the Middle East. President Trump’s actions are unconstitutional. Only Congress has the power to declare war. Congress must immediately vote on the bipartisan War Powers Resolution.
The American people overwhelmingly do not want another war in the Middle East. Diplomacy, not military action, remains the answer.
Cuts to Medicaid will kick millions off their health care and will harm our health care providers. Don't believe me? Listen to AHS Family Health Center, a superb provider in my district that has worked for years to improve access to care for underserved communities in the Chicago area.
Juneteenth is a day for us all to talk about our past and look towards our future. I will not stop fighting until every American enjoys the full set of rights and privileges to which they are entitled.
On Juneteenth, we celebrate the end of slavery in America and recognize the need to continue the fight for racial equality. Despite the great progress we have made, there is still a lot more work to be done to address the legacy of slavery.
The US Treasury just reported that Social Security funds will run out by 2034. Social Security is not an entitlement, it's your hard-earned money! Some of my GOP colleagues still seek to cut benefits, but I've introduced a bill to expand Social Security's solvency by 75 years.
Families across the country may now be forced to leave their state to ensure their kids can access medically necessary care. As the proud grandma of a young trans man, I know that gender-affirming care can help trans youth live openly and authentically. This fight isn't over.
BREAKING: The Supreme Court upholds a Tennessee ban on gender-affirming care for transgender minors in a huge setback for transgender rights.
While Big Pharma companies rake in billions of $$$ in profits & pay next to nothing in taxes, Americans are struggling to afford their lifesaving medications. @SenWarren & I have had enough. We're demanding answers about Pharma's role in extending massive tax cuts for the pharmaceutical industry.
