Today, on Navajo Code Talkers Day we honor the courage & service of those who served our nation during World War II. We are grateful to every Navajo Code Talker & to every New Mexican who has worn the uniform & answered the call to serve. Their service, sacrifice, & legacy will never be forgotten.
Adopt a shelter animal! ❤️🐾 These little cuties are looking for their forever homes at the Humane Society of Lincoln County in Ruidoso. Grateful to the good people (and their furry friends) for the tour yesterday and for their leadership in supporting the needs of our animals!
Happy Thursday! A beautiful day on the road in Lincoln County, Mescalero, Ruidoso, and Carrizozo—doing all the things! We’re on our way back and stopping at one of our favs—at the Buckhorn in San Antonio! Grateful to spend the day down south in some of our favorite communities.
Health care is a human right. We are working every day to build a system that serves everyone! That means investing in hospitals, clinics, emergency services, transportation systems, and the next generation of health care providers—so that every New Mexican can access the care they deserve.
A beautiful district work week in New Mexico – including fiestas, travel across the district, a town hall, meetings with tribal and local leaders, and conversations about the future of our state and communities. So grateful for each and every one of you!
Happy back-to-school! 📚✏️🍎 Today we visited Stapleton Elementary in Rio Rancho! Grateful to all of our teachers, educators, admins, school bus drivers, cafeteria workers, maintenance and custodial staff who take care of our students and are helping grow the future of our state every single day!
Last several months over 21,000 New Mexicans, including over 10,000 children, have lost access to food assistance because of Trump‘s Big Ugly Bill. New Mexico is stepping up! Calling on state leaders to continue to make state investments and anyone who can to help support our food banks!
Since the passage of HR1, more than 21,000 New Mexicans have lost access to food, including 10,000 kids. That’s why we’re at Roadrunner Food Bank—to talk about hunger in NM and how we fight back. It’s all hands on deck, and we’re proud to be on the front lines with our amazing community partners!
ICYMI: I introduced the Indigenous Students Excel through Parity Acts to strengthen BIE & Tribal schools by increasing teacher pay & ensuring tribal schools have the resources they need to support our students. This is important step towards making sure tribal schools have the funding they deserve!
