The White House and GOP must stop playing games with American lives.
While we need to reopen the government—until they come to the table with real solutions in legislation to solve the healthcare crisis they created—we’ll be right back here in a couple of months. That is why I’m voting “no.”
This Veterans Day and every day—we honor the courage, commitment, and service of those who have served. This year, we also celebrate the 250th birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps!
To every veteran, active duty service member and military family: thank you for your service and your sacrifice.
Happy Veterans Day to all our veterans out there! And, Happy 250th Birthday to the U.S. Marine Corps yesterday! We are grateful for your service and looking forward to celebrating here in Albuquerque this morning! 🇺🇸🙏
Friends—I know so many of you are wondering what’s happening in the Senate, the House, with healthcare and food assistance, and right here in New Mexico.
Here is the latest as I gear up to head back to DC tomorrow! ⬇️
So proud to be from New Mexico today! Our Governor has called a special legislative session to ensure New Mexicans continue to get food assistance while the Trump Admin and the GOP play politics with people’s lives. Thank you, @govmlg.bsky.social, for your unwavering leadership and commitment!
It has been an insane weekend when it comes to SNAP food benefits and efforts to reopen the government.
Meanwhile, our food banks are working to make sure our families are fed—like Road Runner Food Bank, who I was honored to join on Friday for their weekly food distribution in the in ABQ.
It looks like I’ll be headed back to DC again this week to vote another HELL NO on a bad deal that leaves millions of Americans without healthcare.
This is not what we fought for. I will always stand with the American people.
That’s why @balint.house.gov
and I introduced the Polluters Pay Act—to ensure polluters contributing to climate damage pay to help communities recover and become more resilient. Because polluters—not taxpayers should be on the hook as we transition to a more climate resilient world.
From catastrophic fires and floods to extreme weather events—climate disasters are causing hundreds of billions of dollars in damages across the world every year.
This is a direct violation of federal law and of federal trust and treaty responsibilities to our Tribal nations.
We are calling on Secretary Burgum to immediately stop this process, meet with Tribal leaders, and uphold the buffer protecting Chaco's irreplaceable cultural heritage.
Chaco Canyon is a sacred landscape and the ancestral homeland of Indigenous communities from across New Mexico. This week we learned that the Department of the Interior may be rushing to revoke protections of the greater Chaco landscape to open it to oil and gas drilling.
If you need any assistance, please call my office at (505) 346-6781. We will get through this TOGETHER!! 💕
This is what taking care of our community looks like. I'm so grateful to all of our partner orgs who showed up last night to help furloughed feds, families in need, and others across the community at our resource fair! I know times are tough right now, and we are doing everything we can to help.
Even as we’re fighting to get the government reopened and SNAP benefits released—we’re here with Roadrunner Food Bank at the food distribution at the International District Library.
And, we’ll at Albuquerque High later for our community resource fair. Join us! We’ll be there 4:30 pm - 7:00 pm!
Yesterday, we visited Lobo Pantry at UNM to learn more about the program and talk to the program directors and students who work there!
Thank you to Lisa, Cande, Miles, Elise, and Hassan for the work you do, and if you’re a UNM student, there are so many resources to make life just a bit easier!
We know so many out there are struggling right now—including students! That’s why we visited the Lobo Pantry at @unm.edu today to help spread the word about this important resource for students at UNM, who might need just a little more help to put food on the table right now. Stop by!
NM’s ranchers are the backbone of our rural economy. Instead of helping them, the Trump Admin is trying to flood the market with cheap foreign beef from Argentina.
That’s why @fernandez.house.gov, @repgabevasquez.bsky.social, and I are standing with our ranchers to demand that this plan be stopped.
As our friends at the Corrales Library put it—libraries are more than just books, they are a true commons, a great equalizer, and a gathering place that brings people together.
At a time when so much is on the line—we must contribute to support our libraries and the important stories they hold!
Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi has and will always be one of the fiercest leaders and defenders of our democracy.
Thank you for everything you’ve done for our country. It has been an honor to serve alongside you for the past four years and I’m grateful to have the opportunity to watch you lead. ❤️
