Cutting families off from food assistance is unacceptable. I joined over 200 Members of Congress in calling on the Admin to release SNAP funding. We are also dropping legislative language to force the Admin to release this funding and supporting states in taking legal action to release those funds.
NM, even in the most challenging times—your grit, determination and heart give me hope and purpose for the work ahead. Today, I head back to DC to continue our fight to reopen the government, address the food and healthcare crisis facing our communities, and fight for our democracy.
Such a wonderful week at home! Including our visit to the @tgrcnm.bsky.social. This center is an amazing resource that provides safe spaces to connect, get access to healthcare, casework, housing, and hot meals, a donation closet, and so much more! Thank you TGRC for the incredible work you do! 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈❤️
Furloughing nearly 80% of our nation’s nuclear security workforce is dangerous. Yet, that is exactly what the Trump Admin and the GOP did. My colleagues and I are demanding the IMMEDIATE reinstatement of NNSA workers—including at NM’s National Labs. Our national security literally depends on it.
Cruelty seems to be the point. This week, the Administration showed it cares more about: Building ballrooms, Bailing out billionaires, and Blowing things up. Than it does about: Feeding families, Federal workers, Fixing healthcare, and Firming up our national security. Here’s what comes next. ⬇️
The complete demolition of the East Wing has occurred in days.   Hundreds of thousands are without work and pay, millions are threatened to have food assistance cut off—and the President is bulldozing the White House to build a $300 million ballroom for himself. Americans will not forget.
The day we’ve waited for has finally arrived! It was truly an honor to be at the grand opening of Sandia Pueblo’s new Early Childhood Development Center! This state-of-the-art school is not only to learn reading, writing, and arithmetic, but also language and culture, and to create future leaders!
Even as the shutdown continues, we are working for NM-01! Proud to introduce the Tribal Affordable Housing Act and Tribal Housing Resilience Act. These bills are about ensuring that every family has a home that is not only affordable, but safe, sustainable, and built to last.
We’ve had an amazing time back in the district this week! Thank you to everyone who showed up to our Town Halls—whether in person, on the phone, or online! And, to all of our federal workers out there who are furloughed or working without pay: THANK YOU! We appreciate you so much!
House leadership seems more focused on shielding the Trump Admin from accountability than actually doing their job. Speaker, it’s time to get back to work: bring back the House, end the shutdown, swear in Rep. Adelita Grijalva, and finally give the Epstein survivors the justice they deserve!
Yesterday we visited TSA workers at the ABQ Sunport who are working without pay to keep our country safe. We’re grateful to all of our federal workers who continue to show up. It’s way past time to bring back the House and end the shutdown! The safety of our communities literally depends on it!
As millions are without work, unable to afford groceries and basic necessities, and the government is shut down—the President is building a ballroom funded by billionaires and threatening to cut off food assistance to millions of families. That is the timeline we’re living in. Sound familiar?
As we enter Day 21 of the government shutdown, it’s important to understand that this is part of a concerted, organized, and well-funded effort to dismantle and reshape the federal government. But 7 million marched in the streets this weekend to say: the American people will not stand for it. ✊
Friends, we’re back in the heart of NM-01 and spending time this week with all of YOU across our communities. From Town Halls, to volunteering, to thanking our federal workers, to everything in between, come out and say hi! We want to hear from you!
