NM is making waves! This year, helping to cover Medical School to keep doctors & healthcare professionals at home! So proud of our #NMLeg & Governor Lujan Grisham for making this investment in our healthcare system. And proud to have helped kick this program off years ago with Speaker Martinez!
To every New Mexican living with a disability: your voice matters. Your leadership matters. You belong in every workplace, community, and seat at the table. I'll keep fighting alongside you for a NM where every person can live with dignity, independence, and joy. Happy Disability Pride Month!
There are so many moments of joy and service during our time in DC—from meeting with fellow New Mexicans, to fighting for Chaco Canyon and our sacred lands and waters, to fighting for our democracy. Grateful to share these moments with all of you and to be home for the month in NM!
Happy Saturday, everyone! I’m here in Santa Fe checking in from Santa Fe Spanish Market! Lots going on this week from attacks on the Smithsonian and our arts institutions to funding fights this last week of summer session. Here’s the latest. ⬇️
This is one of the dumbest & most bizarre Executive Orders we have ever read. This EO is a clear political overreach, driven by an ideological agenda to rewrite American history. Our Smithsonian institutions do not belong to the President, but to the American people & so does our nation’s history.
Our Epstein investigation continues today, with a transcribed interview with a key banking executive associated Epstein for years. This is why Todd Blanche cannot be confirmed as Attorney General. And, this is why when we are back in the majority, these witnesses must be under oath!
Once again, we have passed a War Powers Resolution to END THIS ILLEGAL WAR! No more lives lost. No more taxpayer dollars wasted. No more laws broken. The House has spoken: 214-208. Now will our colleagues in the Senate across the aisle ACT to stand with us to end this war NOW!?
The Smithsonian does not belong to the President or a political party. It BELONGS TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE! We will not let them rewrite our history! We will fight back in Congress, the Courts, and in our Communities because this is OUR story!
“In a world that can often feel dark be like Nolan. Be a light that brightens the lives of those around you.” Absolutely devastating. 💔 Sending love, strength and prayers to the family and loved ones of Nolan Wells. They deserve answers.
It’s already shaping up to be a chaotic week: -A $95 billion package to fund an illegal war -SAVE Act attached to a Stock Trading bill -The Epstein Investigation -Assaults on our public lands, monuments & Smithsonian -Standing with teachers & tribal leaders +so much more…here’s what’s on tap ⬇️
