Surprise! Freedom Caucus members are threatening to vote NO on the GOP rule to move the bill (but NOT in the morning? 🤔)
This is political theater.
The deals are cut & they have long abandoned being true fiscal conservatives. They’ll put up a faux fight tonight, but not for our country tomorrow.

So, Congresswoman Lateefah Simon and I took the opportunity to break down what big ugly bill means for the hard working people of our communities.
It’s 3 AM and I just rolled into DC to vote on this big abomination of a bill passed by the Senate. There’s a lot to be said about this bill. But, I’m ready to vote a Hell NO on it.
It’s bad for our communities.
It’s bad for our kids.
And, it’s bad for our economy.
We’re here for the fight!
With Trump’s big abomination of a bill, more than 17 MILLION Americans could lose healthcare coverage.
In New Mexico, thousands of our friends and neighbors will lose coverage.
This is unconscionable.
Trump’s big abomination of a bill will slash tax credits for families and small business owners who get healthcare coverage through the marketplace.
This will cause premiums to SOAR, leading to more stress and creating yet another barrier that would prevent New Mexicans from getting healthcare.
Trump’s big abomination of a bill will gut rural hospitals. There are 15 rural hospitals right here in New Mexico.
If this bill passes all 15 will be facing the brink.
Our rural families deserve high-quality care in our communities, not to be forced to travel hours to be seen.
Medicaid is the largest source of healthcare in NM, and the loss of federal matching dollars could mean the loss of coverage for thousands of families, decreased coverage and providers, and the closure of hospitals and clinics across our state.
Trump’s big abomination of a bill could cripple the Medicaid payment system in NM with the almost $1 trillion in cuts to Medicaid funding nationwide.

More than 840,000 people in NM are on Medicaid. These cuts have the capacity to DEVASTATE our healthcare system and families all across the state.
This is cruelty thinly veiled as budget policy.
Friends, I’m on my way back to D.C. to vote a resounding HELL NO on Trump and the GOP’s big abomination of a bill.
While I travel back, I want to share some of the reasons I’m voting NO. This bill is bad for New Mexico and Americans all across the country.

While you slept: Senate Republicans were up all night scrambling to salvage their cruel budget—bribing their own members with carveouts to shield their states from the very Medicaid and SNAP cuts they’re forcing on everyone else.
