As elected officials we bear the responsibility to lower the temperature. Statements like this do the exact opposite—they fan the flames of hatred. Speaker Johnson and House Republicans need to immediately condemn Rep. Andy Ogles and enforce disciplinary action.
Unbelievable. We are experiencing a monumental rise in political violence (on both sides) in this country. It stems from hatred and putting a bullseye on those with whom we disagree.
Thanks to the Michigan students from the Student Association for STEM Advocacy for their important work to expand access to STEM education. In our ever-modernizing workforce, it’s crucial to have young leaders interested in STEM fields to keep our country on the cutting edge.
I’m laser-focused on lowering costs for everyday Americans and am pleased to announce the official launch of the Lowering Costs Caucus, which I’m leading alongside Rep. Landsman and Rep. Tran.
We’re fighting hard for commonsense policies that make life more affordable for everyday Americans.
We were also in the presence of true greatness with Faizan, the 2025 Scripps Spelling Bee Winner!
Always a blast to spell alongside colleagues and members of the National Press Club for a great cause!
And a huge thanks to Team Scholten for being there to bring the E-N-T-H-U-S-I-A-S-M!
Tune in at 2:30 p.m. for the official launch of the Lowering Costs Caucus! www.facebook.com/share/16oZvG...
On June 26 in 2003, 2013, and 2015, the Supreme Court handed down landmark rulings that protect the rights of LGBTQ+ individuals.
As we celebrate the anniversaries of these rulings on #EqualityDay, we must also continue fighting to ensure full equality under the law for our LGBTQ+ neighbors.
I sat as Ranking Member on this week’s Small Business Committee hearing, where we focused on how America can bring its critical minerals supplies home.
United Spinal Association is right: people with disabilities should have the right to equal and unlimited opportunities in all facets of society.
Great to meet with advocates determined to see a more just future for our neighbors who use wheelchairs, where everyone can access the care they need.
West Michigan, I hope to see you next Wednesday, July 2nd, in Muskegon for the first town hall in my Scholten Summer Town Hall Series (rescheduled). Come to ask questions, hear about my work, share your stories, and collaborate with me on ways I can continue serving YOU to the best of my ability.
Republicans seem to be indifferent to the harm that Medicaid cuts would inflict. Millions of Americans are going to suffer — they can't just "get over it."
Kent County: endhomelessnesskent.org/cooling-cent...
It’s a scorcher out there, West Michigan. Check out the links below for cooling centers in our community, and take this heat wave seriously.

Today marks 3 years since Roe v. Wade was overturned. Let’s be clear: reproductive care IS health care, and your health care decisions belong to you, not to anyone else.
As a proud @reprocaucus.bsky.social Member, today and every day, I trust you to make decisions about your life, health, and body.
Last week was a rocky week, but we have too much important work to do to slow down. I’m back in Washington and ready to work for you, West Michigan.
I’m proud to lead a bipartisan, bicameral resolution to make June 11th #WorldFranchiseDay.
Franchises and franchise owners are crucial to our small business economy, and it’s time we honor the franchise business model’s impact on job creation and economic development across the world.
I’m for all things Michigan-made, and Buell Motorcycles is doing great work to bolster our domestic auto manufacturing sector. I loved touring their Grand Rapids HQ to learn more about their work and emphasize my support for American-made products — including their awesome motorcycles!
