Today we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who was born on this day in 1929. While his life was tragically cut short, his legacy has lived on for generations. It is our duty to continue following in his footsteps in our work toward freedom and justice for all.
Want to thank a veteran this Valentine's Day? Send in a valentine to our Grand Rapids office by February 7th and we'll deliver them on our Valentine’s Day visit to our veterans!
There's nothing quite like a handwritten note to share our heartfelt gratitude with those who served our country.
I'm so excited to get back to work on @transportdems.bsky.social and the House Small Business Committee! From improving our infrastructure to expanding opportunities for local entrepreneurs, I'm eager to keep delivering for West Michiganders on my two committee assignments in the 119th Congress.
As a mom, especially one who saw the horror unleashed on our young athletes by Larry Nassar here in Michigan, I can't stand behind something that puts our kids' privacy and safety at risk. My vote was for our children.
Today I voted NO on H.R. 28. I’m all for safety & fairness in sports, but this is a reactionary bill that endangers children.
This bill opens the door to routine genital exams on kids— kids could be required to “prove their gender” via invasive inspections by unfamiliar adults.
I’m excited about all the work that lies ahead in this new year and new Congress, West Michigan! To stay updated on everything Team Scholten gets up to, subscribe to my e-newsletter, which I send out weekly. scholten.house.gov/contact/news...
West Michigan’s diversity is what makes our community so great, and this Korean American Day we honor our Korean American neighbors and their lasting contributions to our nation. Today is also a great day to support a local Korean American-owned small business!
ICYMI: My bill to rename the Comstock Park Post Office in honor of Captain Miguel Justin Nava was signed into law last week by President Biden. I was honored to work alongside the Nava family to get this done. Read more here. www.woodtv.com/news/kent-co...
No matter where in the world you’re headed, Team Scholten is here to help with any passport issues that may arise. One of our caseworkers assisted Caroline Z.’s family in securing their passports just in time for renewal. If you need assistance, give us a call at 616-451-8383.
This Human Trafficking Awareness Day, let’s recommit ourselves to being vigilant and looking out for each other, West Michigan. Together, we can raise awareness and end this crisis that impacts countless families nationwide. #EndHumanTrafficking
For over 40 years, Ottawa County Commissioner Roger Bergman has been a public servant, and a true example of how working in a bipartisan fashion is the best way to get things done for West Michiganders. I wish you well in your next chapter, Roger! www.grandhaventribune.com/news/local/c...
Michigan put the world on wheels, and the Detroit Auto Show reminds us that we’re STILL doing just that. It’s always a blast seeing the incredible craftsmanship coming out of our home state, knowing that they have the pedal to the metal to lead us to the automotives of tomorrow.
Thrilled to announce two impactful grants from U.S. Dept. of Transportation that will improve our infrastructure, modernize our roadways, and help keep our communities connected. MI-03, I’m always working to bring federal $ back home to YOU!
Presidents Ford and Carter forged a deep, true friendship, despite their differences.
West Michigan, I work hard every day to carry on President Ford’s legacy and cultivate relationships with anyone who shares my value of delivering for the people of MI-03.
“According to a map, it’s a long way between Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Plains, Georgia. But distances have a way of vanishing when measured in values, rather than miles…”
What remarkable words from President Ford—we are so much more than our politics.🧵
🚌Calling all school leaders: it’s our duty to invest in a healthy, climate-change free environment for future generations to grow up in. This @EPA Clean School Bus Program would help do just that — and they extended the deadline to apply! Read more. www.epa.gov/cleanschoolbus

14 years ago, we lost 6 innocent lives and nearly former Rep. Gabby Giffords, who I’m honored to call my friend. Gabby’s miraculous recovery and work to end gun violence are nothing short of heroic.
Today we honor the lives lost in Tucson and recommit to ending gun violence everywhere.
I’m praying for the communities impacted by the fires in Southern California as well as the brave first responders working tirelessly to mitigate the flames.
These extreme weather events have become far too frequent due to climate change. We must act now to protect our planet.
Wesley and I are honored to be here to greet President Jimmy Carter as he makes his final journey to the Capitol where he will lie in state this week.
