16,000 folks in #OR06 will see their premiums increase by around $1,500 per month. That's right, 16,000 people. That’s outrageous. Americans shouldn’t be pawns in Republicans’ political games.

@demwomencaucus.bsky.social stood united in our message:
Cancel the cuts.
Lower the cost.
SAVE HEALTH CARE.
Republicans, the ball is in your court. Do the right thing.
The Republicans have shut the government down, but my office is still OPEN & ready to work for #OR06.

It's Thursday, October 2, and it's Day 2 of the Republican government shutdown.
President Trump is out here spreading lies that Democrats do not want to negotiate with our colleagues on the other side. That is just fake news.
We are ready to come to the table, but are they?
President Trump should know what an insurrection looks like… because despite what he says I can tell you that there is not one happening in Portland right now.
Watch my interview with Major Garrett for more.
Wishing a meaningful Yom Kippur to those observing in #OR06. G'mar Chatima Tovah!
This shutdown is on Republicans. If Republicans want to meet us halfway, they need to protect your health care.
What the Trump Administration is doing in Oregon is a clear abuse of power. This federal overreach ignores the rule of law and makes our communities less safe.
I introduced a bill to prevent President Trump from using the National Guard as a political tool.

It’s a sad day in America. Republicans forced us into a government shutdown because they refused to come to the table and lower the cost of your health care.
Hear my thoughts on this 👇
Read my statement on Republicans shutting down the government.
We are hours away from a government shutdown.
My Republican colleagues are willing to leave hardworking families in the dust instead of coming to the table to keep the government open.
I’m calling them out.
@housedemocrats.bsky.social are in D.C and ready to work for you. Ready to protect your health care. Ready to keep the government open.
While Dems are in D.C., Republicans are on vacation. It’s clear they do not want to work for you.
Last week, @reptedlieu.bsky.social and I were in #Salem to meet with Easterseals Oregon to discuss how federal funding can help veterans and their families access the resources they deserve.

We are in a health care crisis thanks to President Trump’s Big, Ugly Bill.
Here is the kicker: Republicans are pushing us even closer to disaster.
If they don’t come to the table and keep the government open, premiums could skyrocket as much as 90% in rural areas.
This morning, I stood alongside my @housedemocrats.bsky.social colleagues to call out my Republican colleagues to CANCEL their vacation and come back to work to PROTECT your health care now.
What are they afraid of?
Disturbingly, an Arizona state legislator recently targeted my colleague, @jayapal.house.gov, with vile political speech.
This rhetoric does not make our nation safer.
Political violence can never be tolerated. Political threats can never be tolerated. It can not be normalized — ever.
TIME IS TICKING!!! Where are Republicans?
They're at home because Speaker Johnson CANCELLED votes, knowing we are ONE DAY away from a federal shutdown that would leave workers & troops without pay, medicaid recipients without assistance, & the list really does go on.
This is on them 🙃

Wonder what Trump was up to last week instead of working with Democrats to prevent a government shutdown?
Here's a look.
16,000 Oregonians will see their health care costs soar if Republicans do not extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits.
AND 15 million Americans will lose their health insurance thanks to President Trump & Republicans' Big, Ugly SCAM.
They’re not in the business of working for you.
