Vacaville residents: I will be hosting Coffee with the Congressman this Monday, March 17th, from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm. Please drop in to discuss issues impacting you and our community.
Ways & Means Republicans are attempting to block our efforts to investigate DOGE’s access to sensitive taxpayer data. Your personal data isn’t Musk’s playground. It’s time the Republican Party which is the majority party stand up to him and protect American taxpayers.
FACT: Social Security is an earned benefit that allows over 153,000 residents in our district to retire and live with dignity and puts $3.4 billion into our local economy each year. Previous attempts to cut or privatize Social Security were wildly unpopular, and for good reason.
#FactCheckFriday Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, claims your hard-earned Social Security benefits are a “Ponzi scheme.”
Congressional Republicans' partisan funding bill slashes critical services and hands this destructive administration a blank check. Read my full statement below.
For information on how to file your refunds, please see the below guidance posted by the IRS. As always, please consult your tax advisor for any specific tax advice.

Qualified PG&E Fire Victim Trust Recipients: The IRS has released guidance for taxpayers who are entitled to refunds under my Federal Disaster Tax Relief Act of 2023.
Deeply saddened by the passing of my colleague, Congressman Raúl Grijalva. Raúl was a fierce champion for protecting our climate and our lands, and he will be dearly missed. My prayers are with his loved ones. www.npr.org/2025/03/13/g...
Today’s ruling to reinstate tens of thousands of essential public servants is a big win in our fight against the President’s unlawful actions. Read my full statement below.
Great to join the League of American Bicyclists for their annual Bike Summit in Washington. Over the last twenty years, bike commuting has grown 60 percent nationwide. As Co-Chair of the Congressional Bike Caucus, I’m working to continue to make biking safer and more accessible.
The American people did not vote to gut Medicare and Medicaid, slash Social Security, and rip benefits away from veterans. Ways and Means Democrats have filed a resolution to demand answers from the Administration and it’s time our Republican colleagues join us.
Republican cuts to Medicaid threaten care for all of us. These cuts will force hospitals to cut services or shutdown altogether, limiting care for everyone in our community. In our district, 241,000 patients and $2 billion in economic impact are at risk. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ev5D...
Winters residents: My team is hosting in-person office hours today, March 12th, from 11am to 1pm. Please drop in to discuss with my team any support you may need and stay tuned for more sessions throughout our district.
Read my full statement on the passage of the Republican funding bill below.
I’m for Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, and veterans. I voted “No” on the Republicans’ partisan funding bill.
That’s why the Republicans' latest funding resolution is so dangerous. Republicans are trying to pass a blank check for the President and Elon Musk, freeing them from any legal obligation to protect Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, and veterans’ benefits.
Congress’ job isn’t to write a blank check to the President. Our job is to pass a bill that directs the President to fund the programs and priorities that matter most to the American people.
Joined my colleague and friend, @repmarktakano.bsky.social, to discuss the Administration’s recent impacts on veterans on the #WTFShow. Watch our update from Washington below ⬇️
