Ramadan Mubarak to all observing in California’s Fourth District!
Politico reports: “a group of vulnerable House Republicans is arguing that the bulk of those reductions will have to come out of Medicaid given that the panel has virtually no other options to make cuts of that magnitude.”
FACT: The Republican party's own members are raising alarms about cutting Medicaid. The Republicans’ budget bill instructs the House Energy and Commerce Committee, which has jurisdiction over Medicare and Medicaid, to cut spending by $880 billion.
#FactCheckFriday Republican leaders are saying their budget doesn’t cut Medicaid because the word “Medicaid” isn’t even in the bill.
While Republicans work to pass tax cuts for the ultra-rich, Americans across our country, from red states to blue states, will suffer. I will continue to fight for a tax code that works for all Americans. youtu.be/VhYvZ8ZDE4c?...
Thanks to Jeff Parr and the National Association of Letter Carriers for visiting with me today to discuss how we can continue to protect postal workers and stop the privatization of our mail service.
Republicans are losing in the court of public opinion, so Republican leadership is instructing their members not to hold town halls. Americans are rightfully angry that the President and Elon Musk are trying to slash important services and fire civil servants.
Tonight, Republicans laid the groundwork to cut healthcare and food for children in order to pay for a tax cut for the richest in our country. Read my full statement below.
Tonight, Republicans said they didn’t have the votes to pass their budget bill, sent everyone home, then called their bill up for a vote. Watch my update from the Capitol below.
House Democrats took to the Capitol today to rail against Republicans’ disastrous budget resolution, which proposes devastating cuts to Medicare, SNAP, school funding and more to greenlight trillions in tax cuts for the rich. We won’t stand for it.
The workers at the Office of Community Planning and Development help deliver much-needed funding to rebuild homes after disaster strikes. Our district received $99 million in recovery grants through this office following the 2017 wildfires

Irresponsible and unthinkable that this administration has announced plans to gut a critical office for disaster response.
The United States’ refusal to vote against condemning Putin’s deadly war isn’t just shameful — it is inconceivable. My full statement below.
Another win for Americans’ privacy: A federal judge has barred the Education Department and the Office of Personnel Management from sharing sensitive personal data with DOGE, citing federal privacy laws. www.nbcnews.com/politics/dog...
Great to hear the FDA plans to rehire around 300 recently fired staff working on drugs, food safety, medical devices. Trump and Musk’s attempt to derail our government by firing hardworking civil servants is backfiring. apnews.com/article/fda-...
Today marks the third anniversary of Russia’s war against Ukraine. This premeditated and unprovoked invasion was a direct violation of international law and an attack on democracy, global peace, and security. Russia’s invasion must come to an end. I stand with Ukraine.
Federal employees are important public servants. Trump and musk need to back off! www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcn...
Thank you to the 350 community members who joined me for a town hall in Santa Rosa last night. Your voices are making a real impact as we push back against Trump’s unlawful actions. I encourage you to keep sharing your stories with your neighbors, friends, families, and elected officials.
Kelseyville residents: My team is hosting in-person office hours this Thursday, February 27th from 2 to 4pm. Please drop in to discuss with my team any support you may need and stay tuned for more sessions throughout our district.
