Trump called himself a great "peacemaker," but all he's done is worsen conflicts and embolden Putin, Xi and adversaries around the globe. His first 100 days have been a disaster for our allies and interests worldwide — and they’ve compromised our national security here at home.
Donald Trump is tearing up our Constitution, tearing down our economy, and tearing apart our government. It's been 100 days of lawlessness, chaos, and failure from Trump, Musk, and their cabinet of billionaires — and Americans across the country have paid the price. Shameful.
The Trump Administration admitted in court that it NEVER should've abducted Kilmar, yet it continues to defy a court order to facilitate his return. Trump claims there's nothing he can do. But as I wrote to him today, the VP of El Salvador told me explicitly — the ball is in Trump's court:
Letter from Senator Van Hollen to President Trump. Full letter can be found here: https://www.vanhollen.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/letter_to_trump_re_mrabregogarcia.pdf
Today I met with some of the dedicated federal workers who have been ILLEGALLY fired by Trump in his first 100 days. These firings take a chainsaw to public services that benefit all Americans to rig our government for billionaires like Elon Musk. We will keep fighting back.
Less than a month ago Secretary Rubio was rightly hailing WPS as one of his accomplishments in the Senate — celebrating it as "the first law...in the world focused on protecting women and promoting their participation in society." Apparently you need a brain transplant to serve Trump.
Tweet from Secretary Hegseth:

"This morning, I proudly ENDED the “Women, Peace & Security” (WPS) program inside the
@DeptofDefense
.

WPS is yet another woke divisive/social justice/Biden initiative that overburdens our commanders and troops — distracting from our core task: WAR-FIGHTING.

WPS is a UNITED NATIONS program pushed by feminists and left-wing activists. Politicians fawn over it; troops HATE it.

DoD will hereby executive the minimum of WPS required by statute, and fight to end the program for our next budget.

GOOD RIDDANCE WPS!"
In 100 days Donald Trump has FAILED and BETRAYED our country. He’s tearing up our Constitution, tearing down our economy and tearing apart our government — all to rig everything to serve the interests of his billionaire pals. We WILL NOT STOP FIGHTING for one second.
Trump and his cronies are gutting the Department of Justice division charged with enforcing and protecting voting rights.   This is a direct attack on the right to vote and threatens decades of civil rights and voting rights progress. It cannot stand.
It's been 4 days since we wrote to Secretary Hegseth demanding accountability over rising civilian deaths from U.S. military strikes in Yemen. Today another U.S. strike reportedly killed at least 68 civilians. This gross disregard for civilian harm is unacceptable and doesn’t make us any safer.
Getting rid of safeguards designed to limit civilian harm from U.S. military operations & ensure compliance with international humanitarian law undermines our credibility, jeopardizes our missions & raises the risk of natl security threats.
Trump promised to lower prices "on Day 1." Well, we're about to reach Day 100 — and all he's done is bring our economy to the brink of disaster and set the stage for prices to go up even further with his tariff chaos. The Great Betrayal continues.
Elon Musk's illegal operation has nothing to do with efficiency and everything to do with dismantling public services that benefit all to rig our government for billionaires like himself. It's been a scam from the start — and the American people know it:
Now the so-called “America First” president wants to slash Americorps. Of course, the idea of people serving the public instead of cashing in on public service is an alien concept to Donald Trump. We will fight this illegal withholding of funds.
This is a positive step forward after courts found the Trump Admin’s actions here were blatantly unlawful. We must continue fighting to end this president's lawless acts, like the illegal detentions of students like Mahmoud Khalil, Rumeysa Ozturk & others.
This is what fascism looks like: Attorney General Bondi threatening judges she claims are not cooperating with Trump immigration policies and saying “we will come after you and we will prosecute you. We will find you.”
For a while Trump pretended he would make his rich pals pay their fair share of taxes for the common good. It was all a farce. He and D.C. R's are right back to the Great Betrayal: tax giveaways for the ultra-wealthy at everyone else’s expense.
Let's be clear about what's happening right now: Trump and Musk are dismantling the Social Security Administration from the inside. It has nothing to do with efficiency — it's about sabotaging Social Security while they rig the government for billionaires like themselves.
Getting rid of safeguards designed to limit civilian harm from U.S. military operations & ensure compliance with international humanitarian law undermines our credibility, jeopardizes our missions & raises the risk of natl security threats.
This is a good move by @govpritzker.illinois.gov. More states should do this to send a message to Pres. Bukele that there is a price to pay for complicity in Trump’s unconstitutional abduction of Abrego Garcia. And American tourists should go elsewhere until he is given due process.
The US Constitution guarantees due process. Donald Trump is eroding it in real time – we must fight back to restore the balance of power. Today, I’m announcing a series of measures against El Salvador for aiding his unconstitutional deportation scheme.
