Big Tech's data centers are spiking energy costs for households across our country.   If a trillion-dollar corporation wants to build a data center, the American people shouldn't have to pay for it.   My Power for the People Act would make sure that Big Tech pays, not consumers.
Trump is so afraid of losing the midterms that he's demanding the USPS not deliver ballots to millions of American voters.   As judge after judge slaps down his attempts to rig the 2026 midterms, we must all remain vigilant to ensure voting remains a right promised to every American.
TPS protects those who'd face danger if they're forced to return to their countries of origin. Many have been here for decades. They're regularly vetted & are part of our communities.   Now, SCOTUS is letting Trump send law-abiding TPS holders back into harm’s way. Shameful.
Supreme Court Expands Trump’s Power Over Immigration

The court handed President Trump victories in his push to rescind deportation protections for hundreds of thousands of people and turn away migrants at the southern border.
Trump & Hegseth are now asking for $88 BILLION more for their illegal war in Iran.

Just as I predicted, they are pairing this money with other priorities to buy votes for this war.

The American people shouldn't backfill this blunder. Not another dime!
Trump Asks Congress for $88 Billion, Mostly for War With Iran

The proposal was all but dead on arrival in the Senate, where it would need bipartisan support, and comes amid growing G.O.P. skepticism about the conflict.
Not one more dime for an illegal war of choice that is making us less safe. The best way to protect our troops, end the killing of school children and civilians, reduce skyrocketing oil and gas prices, and stop wasting billions of taxpayer dollars is to cut off the funding.
4 years ago today, Trump's SCOTUS overturned Roe v. Wade, which marked the start of an all-out assault on reproductive rights in America. We cannot stop fighting back in the courts, in Congress, & our communities until we codify a woman's right to reproductive freedom in law.
Dark money groups are spending billions to elect their preferred candidates. 16 yrs ago today, the DISCLOSE Act, a bill I wrote to ensure transparency, passed the House. 59 Senators voted for it but Republicans used the filibuster to block it. My warning then remains true today:
Those pushing to continue the war in Iran & lobbying against the deal should answer a simple question: What is your alternative? There's no good way to end a bad war. If the past 4 months have taught us anything, it's that more war is not the answer.
From wage theft to union busting, the billionaires & big corporations are rigging the rules for themselves. The result? Workers get stiffed. It's shameful & un-American. That's why I'm proud to stand with @iamunion.bsky.social & every worker who's demanding that we fix this broken system.
Too many Americans can't afford a place to live.   There's more to do, but today we took a step to address that problem, passing the ROAD to Housing Act to make it easier to build & access affordable housing — including my bills to improve access for veterans.   My full statement:
"Initiating a criminal investigation in order to harass political opponents... is a blatantly unlawful and unethical use [of] the grand-jury process," — Judge Schiltz   It's a sad day when a judge has to tell the President he can't weaponize the govt against political opponents.
In October, the RSF massacred over 6,000 people in 3 days in El Fasher, Sudan.  Now, in the RSF’s assault on al-Obeid, 500,000 civilians risk falling victim to that same brutality. We are not powerless to stop this. [1/2]
In the 2 weeks since Republicans voted down my amendments to ban this slush fund, Trump & Blanche have refused to say it’s dead  — including, now, where it matters most: in court. Until it’s shut down,  we must keep fighting to stop this $1.8 BILLION taxpayer-funded slush fund.
Trump again refused to say his slush fund is dead. He also refused to say payouts shouldn't go to people who beat up our Capitol Police on Jan 6.

To every Republican who voted against my amendment to stop payments to those convicted of heinous crimes, what’s your excuse now?
In 2022, workers at the Apple Store in Towson made history as the first to unionize their store.   Now, Apple is closing the store & the workers of IAM Local 4538 have gone to the NLRB over unfair labor practices.   Apple is worth $4.3+ TRILLION. They can afford to do better, they chose not to.
Democrats should make 2 key points. 1) The illegal war in Iran has been a blunder & we are worse off than before it started. 2) There’s no good way out of a bad war. We should reject the talking points of those who cheered it on & want to drag us back into it. When you're in a hole, stop digging.
Very revealing. Republican senators who were AWOL regarding their constitutional duties around STARTING the war against Iran all of a sudden demand that Congress play a role in STOPPING the war. A whole lot of warmongering going on.

This year, Juneteenth falls 7 weeks after SCOTUS gutted the VRA, unwinding decades of progress & undoing a key pillar of the fight for equality. While Republicans are doing all they can to turn back the clock, Juneteenth reminds us that we must never rest in the pursuit of justice.
Trump's lawless ICE operation spent $700 MILLION of your tax dollars on 7 warehouses they’re now trying to get rid of.   Not only is this ICE operation draconian & inhumane, it's an abuse of taxpayer dollars, paid for by their cuts to Medicaid and SNAP. It's twisted.
ICE Spent $700 Million on 7 Warehouses. Now It Wants to Get Rid of Them.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement plans to sell or give away most of the 11 warehouses it bought to detain migrants, reversing course on a signature initiative.
The deal between the United States & Iran underscores what we already knew: The Iran war was a huge blunder from the start & we are worse off as a result. But one thing worse than this deal is not ending this stupid war.
