On Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, we honor and remember the soldiers, sailors, and civilians who lost their lives on December 7, 1941.
As a 25-year Army veteran, I’m also grateful for the service and sacrifice of those who answered the call to serve our country in the days that followed.

Trump’s Big Ugly Bill will take food assistance from 4 million people.
While the president jets off to Mar-a-Lago and builds a ballroom, millions of families will be left struggling to afford groceries.
That isn’t leadership. It’s cruelty.
#OTD in 1865, the 13th Amendment was ratified, abolishing slavery across the United States.
Today, we honor that moment in American history by reaffirming our commitment to liberty, justice, and equality for all.
It was an incredible honor to spend an evening with President Barack Obama.
During our time, President Obama underscored the significance of service and urged us to continue defending our shared values.
Thank you, Mr. President, for your steadfast leadership.
No grieving family should ever have to face high medical bills for a pregnancy that results in a stillbirth or miscarriage.
That’s why I’m introducing the Caring for Grieving Families Act with Rep. Miller-Meeks. This commonsense, bipartisan bill offers a straightforward solution to a cruel problem.

70 years ago today in Montgomery, Alabama, the Montgomery Bus Boycott began.
We honor the bravery of those who stood up for dignity and justice and reaffirm our commitment to carrying forward their fight for equality.
While every American is entitled to due process, political violence has no place in our country. I unequivocally condemn this attempted attack and am thankful no one was harmed. (3/3)
I am grateful to the law enforcement professionals at the Federal Bureau of Investigation for their hard work and diligence in this years-long effort to identify and apprehend this individual. (2/3)
Earlier today, I was informed that a resident of Virginia’s Seventh District has been arrested for placing pipe bombs near the Democratic and Republican national committees in Washington, D.C., ahead of the January 6th insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. (1/3)
Congressman Jim Himes saw the unredacted video of Secretary Hegseth's boat strikes.
He said it was one of the most troubling things he has seen during his time in public service.
We cannot chalk this up to the "fog of war." There must be a FULL Congressional investigation into these strikes.
The safety of our community is my top priority and we will continue to monitor the situation. We will provide updates when we have them. (2/2)
We’ve seen reports in the media that a resident of the Seventh Congressional District was arrested as a suspect in the search for the DC pipe bomber who targeted the DNC and RNC ahead of the Jan. 6 insurrection. (1/2)
Trump pardoned the ex-president of Honduras who trafficked 400 pounds of cocaine into the United States.
You can’t claim to be tough on drug trafficking while freeing one of the world’s most notorious traffickers.
Make it make sense, POTUS.
It’s been two weeks since I took to the House floor demanding that Trump release the transcript of his call with MBS after the brutal murder of Jamal Khashoggi.
We’ve heard nothing. What is POTUS scared the public will see?

Congratulations to Virginia’s next Secretary of Agriculture and Forestry, Katie Frazier!
Katie has been a steadfast advocate for Virginia’s farmers and producers. Her leadership and dedication will be a strong asset for agriculture and forestry across the Commonwealth.
I’m proud to introduce a bipartisan, bicameral bill with Senator Kaine and Rep. Valadeo that helps Virginians build the digital skills that are essential in today’s economy.
Virginia is a place where anyone willing to work hard should be able to land their first job or keep the job they love.
Take it from Secretary Hegseth, following "ruthless" and "unlawful" orders has consequences.
Ironic, right?
Let’s be clear: Pete Hegseth should be under criminal investigation for his unauthorized — and likely illegal — military operations in Venezuela.
As I told Jim Sciutto, Pete Hegseth must release the unredacted video of the strike and radio recordings of the orders given.
