Following the heinous murder of Charlie Kirk, the admin offered no ideas to protect us from gun violence but has been very busy trying to control free speech. They believe in the 2nd amdt but not the 1st. Recipe for little freedom & a whole lot of fear.
I’m disturbed that this has to be said. But the government should not be threatening major networks in order to influence their programming. If media can’t operate without fear of government interference, our democracy itself is in peril.
Everyone who voted for the Big Ugly Bill owns this. We just learned that another hospital in Georgia is being forced to cut services because of the Republican budget bill. I’m fighting in Washington every day to rollback these cuts.
4 innocent children lost their lives on this day 62 years ago when a bomb exploded outside of the 16th St. Baptist Church in Birmingham. Today, we honor the lives of Denise, Carole, Addie Mae & Cynthia. We must resolve to honor their memory by fighting hate & striving for justice.
It takes strength to love. It takes courage to love. It takes patience and persistence to love. God grant us strength and courage. God grant us patience and persistence for the facing of this hour and for the living of these days.
The threats to HBCUs across the country yesterday are the latest instances of hate and terror in a country that is spiritually broken. These threats must be taken seriously and investigated by the DOJ immediately. The cycle of hate and violence must be stopped.
I’ll never forget where I was 24 years ago when an act of terror claimed the lives of 2,996 souls and changed America forever. As we remember those we lost today, I’m praying for their souls, their loved ones, and our entire country. Never forget.
