I agree with Dalton's GOP Rep. Carpenter. Ximena is a young woman who was brought here through no fault of her own, who only knows a life in Georgia, and has worked hard to contribute to her community. Ximena should be released.
GA State Rep. Kasey Carpenter (R) has been outspoken in advocating for the release of Ximena Arias-Cristobal, a 19-year-old undocumented college student who was detained by ICE after a mistaken traffic stop in Dalton, GA.
The attempt to gut Medicaid is the latest manifestation of the moral crossroads we face. Will we be a nation that cares for the sick? Or will we leave the most vulnerable among us to fend for themselves? All of us who believe in the first path must make our voices heard now.
