This morning I was honored to join Representatives Wasserman Schultz, Clyburn, Frankel, and Cherfilus-McCormick to talk about the administration's proposed cuts to NOAA Research. My remarks start ~24:00, but lots of good stuff throughout and in the Q&A. Thank you for the chance to participate!

I’m hosting a TownHall feat @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social, @robinkelly.house.gov, @wassermanschultz.house.gov, & @repbarragan.bsky.social to discuss Trump’s attack on Americans Healthcare following the passage of the #BigUGLYBill.
RSVP — admittance is subject to venue capacity.
Our communities need timely @noaa.gov research & severe storm forecasting to stay safe.
Today, I joined @repjamesclyburn.bsky.social, @frankel.house.gov, @congresswomanscm.bsky.social & top scientists to warn that Trump & GOP attacks on NOAA will lead to needless deaths.
Watch:
Broward County schools stand to lose $30+ million in federal dollars due to Trump's illegal funding freezes.
I'll fight for these funds with all I’ve got. There's no reason to hurt our students and teachers like this.

Trump fired more veterans than any president and now pushes a massive VA privatization plan.
My commitment to our veterans: I'll fight nonstop to ensure you get your hard-earned benefits. Proud to join State Representative Marie Woodson at tonight's veterans town hall.
Trump outright abandoned our veterans by gutting the VA & firing more veterans than any other president.

We want better government not broken government.
With lawsuits still pending, an extreme SCOTUS majority risks permanent destruction of agencies and careers. We must fight this unjust, immoral president who has such disdain for the law.

This administration is shortchanging America's heroes. Reducing VA staff by 30,000 is a large-scale reduction in force, and it will have consequences.

Trump's Everglades internment camp just opened. People held there, including LAWFUL RESIDENTS, are already being mistreated:
"We're like rats in an experiment"
"No water to take a bath"
"Only brought a meal once a day...it had maggots"
"They never take off the lights"
More people need access to good, quality health care. But Republicans just stole coverage from 17 million Americans.
They made life more expensive for middle class families, all to give their billionaire donors huge tax breaks.
Trump just handed a massive tax cut to billionaires and huge corporations.
And to give these obscene handouts to their wealthiest donors, Republicans gut healthcare coverage and food assistance that Americans count on.
I am overwhelmed with sorrow for David Lawrence and his incredible family on the loss of his beautiful granddaughters. This tragedy is unimaginable.
May the memories of these cherished little girls be for the blessing they were to their entire family and many friends.
I’ve met hospital CEOs who worry about closing down due to Trump's cruel cuts.
Republicans deny Americans healthcare just to pay for tax cuts to the wealthy with this abomination of a law.
The loss of life & still missing children in the Texas flooding is just heartbreaking. Thanks to the first responders & volunteers who rescue survivors & search on.
To the victims, may their memory be a blessing. To those awaiting news of loved ones, you’re in our thoughts.
Trump just signed a law that steals health care from millions and makes the largest nutrition assistance cuts in history.
He sold out the working class to give tax breaks to the wealthiest Americans.
The Republican budget gifts billionaires massive tax breaks, while everyone else is left behind.
They blew a $4 trillion hole in our deficit and stole health care from millions just so Elon Musk can buy another jet and Jeff Bezos can spend $50 million on another wedding.
Leader Jeffries shared stories of so many lives that will be made worse because of Trump's budget during his record-breaking speech.
Despite all their talk, Republicans did nothing to stop the harm coming to their constituents.
July 4th symbolizes our nation’s fundamental values: freedom, unity, and justice.
We must keep fighting to turn these ideals into reality as they come under attack by extreme Republicans and their Big Ugly Bill that will be signed into law today.
Trump's Big Ugly Bill passed the House today. Sadly, it will bring pain to countless South Florida families.
I want to hear how Trump's cruel policies impact you or your family. Share your stories here: democraticleader.house.gov/shareyourstory
