Families across the country—especially in rural areas—are going broke because of Trump’s cuts to affordable child care. As a working mom, child care costs almost held me back. @warnock.senate.gov and I won’t let the same happen to families today, no matter where they live.
Journalism is not a crime. The Justice Department should investigate the federal agents who killed US citizens in broad daylight, not arrest reporters like Don Lemon. He should be released. It's a spine-chilling assault on press freedom and threatens the public's right to know.
No Republican purporting to care about Fed independence should agree to move forward with this nomination until Trump drops his witch hunts of current Fed Chair Jerome Powell and Governor Lisa Cook.
Donald Trump said anybody who disagrees with him will never be Fed Chair. Kevin Warsh – who cared more about helping Wall Street after the 2008 crash than millions of unemployed Americans – has apparently passed the loyalty test.
This is a moment to dig down deep. I'm grateful to the former federal workers who took a moment to honor Alex Pretti's memory and who keep speaking up for what's right. We won't stop pushing for accountability.
Republicans' Big Ugly Bill gave Trump $190 billion for DHS, including $75 billion for ICE and $65 billion for CBP. That's money Republicans stripped from rural hospitals and helping people afford health care. Congress should claw it back and put serious restraints on DHS.
This should be a bigger story: White collar criminals are running free so that Donald Trump can pursue his cruel immigration agenda. Trump is reassigning federal law enforcement officers who go after rich criminals to ICE. I’m calling for an investigation.
If Senate Republicans refuse to strip out the DHS bill to put real constraints on ICE — and hold hostage the vast majority of government funding — then Republicans are complicit in the chaos and own the potential government shutdown. It’s time to stop ICE’s violence.
