It’s long past time for the hostages to come home, to stop the bombing in Gaza, to surge humanitarian aid, and to negotiate a two-state solution and lasting peace. I pray that this is the last anniversary where families in the region are unable to be reunited with their loved ones.
Today marks 2 years since Hamas's attack on Israel, the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust. We grieve for those killed and their families.
On top of ripping away Americans' health care, Donald Trump is using this shutdown to hurt federal workers. Federal workers like this one, who told me her story after being needlessly fired earlier this year, deserve so much better.
Guess how many times Republicans have tried to negotiate with Democrats to save health care? None. Zero. Not once. Republicans would rather shut down the government than lower health care costs.
Donald Trump is plotting to cut Social Security benefits for older Americans — after he promised during the campaign that he wouldn’t touch Social Security. We must call it out and stop these cuts.
Because of Republicans' health care cuts, families will be forced to the brink of bankruptcy from one bad medical diagnosis. That's what this shutdown fight is about. Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress own this government shutdown.
How could the President even be considering a deal that would turn over more of our economy to Xi Jinping? Trump should put a stop to China’s crushing of American farmers already suffering from his tariffs. Instead he's negotiating their surrender.

Next year, a lot of folks are going to see their premiums go up $1,000 or more per month because of a Republican policy. If you start having to pay $1,000 extra every month, what will you stop being able to afford? This is what Democrats are fighting to stop.
We shouldn't rip away health care from millions of people. We shouldn't take an already broken, creaky health care system and smash it to the ground. But that’s what Republicans are doing. Democrats are working to bring down costs and fix Republicans’ health care crisis.
I learned something new: Medicaid is called Dr. Dynasaur in Vermont. Maybe you didn't know that either — or maybe you don't know you're even on Medicaid because it's called something else. Either way, Republicans cut your care, and Democrats are fighting to restore it.
Trump wants to use a shutdown of Republicans’ own making to keep YOU in the dark about our economy. The September jobs numbers are ready – and Trump must release them. Without them, the Fed is flying blind while making decisions that impact you.
How out of touch can Donald Trump’s top economic adviser be? A 60-year-old couple making $85k/year will have to pay over $22,000 more EVERY YEAR. TWENTY TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS.
