It’s been a joy to serve the people of Greater Charlotte with Representative, now Attorney General-elect Jeff Jackson. We’ve brought community projects to the city and worked on housing legislation like the American Neighborhoods Protection Act.

Rep. Wiley Nickel joined me in the Supporting Diverse Entrepreneurs Act, to help our HBCUs and their students. We will miss his expertise on the Committee on Financial Services.
I’ve worked with Rep. Kathy Manning for many years, as we both began our political careers in Greensboro. She’s been a good partner on the @EdWorkforceDems, and a champion for voices of justice like the Greensboro Four.
Service is indeed the rent we pay to live on God’s Earth. I will miss working with my fellow North Carolinians who have kept their rent fully paid:
My statement on the life and legacy of President Jimmy Carter:
Happy first day of Kwanzaa to all who celebrate. May today be a day of joy and pride for our families.
Wishing a Happy first day of Hanukkah to all who celebrate. May every day be more prosperous, more full of love and more full of light.
Merry Christmas to all who celebrate this joyous day. Service is indeed the rent we pay to live on God’s Earth.
May the love and peace of Christ be a beacon for all who serve.
I will deliver my State of the District Address on Thursday, January 30th, 2025, at the Goodwill Opportunity Campus in Charlotte, at 7pm ET.
That’s just a fraction of what is at stake for North Carolina with this bill.
➡️ Millions of dollars for rebuilding destroyed and damaged child care facilities and services affected by Helene – because child care is infrastructure.
➡️ Millions of dollars in defense repairs to North Carolina military installations affected by Helene.
➡️ $2.2 billion dollars for the Small Business Administration to help fund the $172 million in requested loans from over 2,000 North Carolina small businesses.
➡️ Over $1 billion for the National Park Service to rebuild and preserve the Blue Ridge Parkway, and $429 million more for other NC parks projects.
➡️ $674 million in disaster payments and economic assistance for the farmers who feed us from across the state.
A few more of the items that we stand to lose out on if we don’t pass this bill are:
➡️ Over $1.6 billion for disaster recovery through Housing and Urban Development to assist with long-term housing, infrastructure, and economic recovery needs for hardest-hit communities.
North Carolina is recovering from the most devastating natural disaster in modern history- Hurricane Helene. Almost $9 billion – that's billion, with a “B” – in disaster relief funding for NC is in this bill, which we need desperately for rebuilding in the wake of Helene. 🧵⬇️
Last night I hosted the Fourth Quarterly Adams Hunger Initiative, to discuss how to end hunger in Greater Charlotte.
We discussed how to maintain and bolster our work, and how to fight harmful cuts in the years ahead.

Public archives provide access to records—from birth certificates to military service records—necessary to secure our rights and benefits. We must protect them from climate change. That's why @adams.house.gov and I are proud to introduce the Public Archives Resiliency Act.
Today, I celebrated the service of my outgoing NC colleagues, Reps. Kathy Manning, Wiley Nickel, & Jeff Jackson, & condemned the corruption of gerrymandering that took their seats.
I won’t forget their service in the US House, nor forgive the process by which it concludes.

Alignment stats consider only votes where a clear yes/no majority existed for the legislator's party. Cross-party marks divergence where the vote matched the opposite party majority. ↔ indicates cross-party divergence.
