Handing special education to RFK, Jr. is a terrible idea. He has no experience in education, and even worse, has spread dangerous conspiracy theories about people with disabilities. We cannot allow this administration to continue its cruel crusade to abolish the Education Department.
Today, we celebrate 11 years since the Obergefell v. Hodges decision that legalized same-sex marriage. As we saw this activist Supreme Court threaten to take that right away, I'm proud to have protected it with my Respect for Marriage Act. 🏳️‍🌈
As we gear up for the 4th anniversary of the creation of the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, I was happy to meet with the folks in Green Bay who are on the front lines, answering the calls and helping Wisconsinites in crisis get the help they need.
Everywhere I go in Wisconsin people tell me how homeownership feels like an unattainable dream. Now, we finally passed a bill to put this dream within reach for working Americans—and the President is refusing to sign it.
It’s been 4 years since our Bipartisan Safer Communities Act became law. This was a huge step forward in our fight against gun violence by expanding background checks and boosting mental health resources. We have more work to do to save lives.
The President is trying to meddle in Wisconsin’s elections and stop eligible Wisconsinites from voting because he is afraid accountability is coming. Today’s news is good, but the fight to make sure your voice is heard continues. www.nbcnews.com/politics/ele...
Democrats and Republicans came together to pass a bill to help lower housing costs for working families. Well…the bill was supposed to be signed into law today, but Donald Trump said no. This guy simply does not get what Americans are going through – and it shows.
BREAKING: For the first time ever, we are stopping private equity from buying up single-family homes in our communities! This will help make housing more affordable, and I’m proud to be working to make the American Dream of owning a house attainable for more families. 🏠
It shouldn’t have taken 100-plus days, 13 American servicemembers losing their lives, and gas prices through the roof for the President to realize diplomacy, not war, was the only answer here.
This was my fear: a private equity-owned company with no experience wasn’t going to get the job done on time, and it’d put our servicemembers at risk. Wisconsin workers are second to none, and they should have gotten this work. www.wpr.org/news/sen-bal...
Today is a day to celebrate the strength, liberation, and freedom of Black Americans. It’s also a day to reflect on our country’s painful history of slavery. Today and every day, we must continue to build a more perfect, more equal, more just country. Happy Juneteenth, everyone!
Messing with special education and children with disabilities? C’mon. President Trump is trying to shut down the Department of Education – and he doesn’t care what it means for our children or families. It makes no sense.
