Studies consistently show that library funding provides a massive return on investment and increases educational outcomes, particularly in underserved communities.
I recently visited the North Plains library, where I met with wonderful staff to discuss the importance of their work in keeping the library a fun and welcoming space. 🧵
Thank you Hillsboro School District and Arts for Learning NW for welcoming me to Atfalati Ridge Elementary School! It was great to see students working with an artist in residence and fully engaged in a lively lesson.
This bill will make it easier for older adults and adults with disabilities to benefit from nutrition assistance and will raise the value of SNAP benefits so older Americans can age with dignity.
It is unacceptable that in our wealthy nation, more than 12 million seniors don't have enough to eat. Federal nutrition programs like SNAP are intended to end hunger, but too many older adults and people with disabilities can’t easily access them. 🧵
REMINDER: Tillamook Casework Office Hours are TODAY from 11:30am to 1:30pm PST at Tillamook Bay Community College!
Congratulations to the Constitution teams at Lincoln and Grant High Schools! We are so proud of your achievements. 🏅
Lori Chavez-DeRemer failed to protect workers, jeopardized the Department of Labor's work to support the economy, drove down morale among agency staff, and abused federal government resources to serve her own whims. She should be held accountable for the damage that occurred on her watch.
Trump's Housing department is trying to pass a rule that would break up immigrant families and leave tens of thousands unhoused. I won't stand for it.
Congratulations to both teams. We are honored to have had you represent Oregon! 🎉

These students have an impressive level of knowledge about the Constitution, its history, and its application to current events.
The competition brings together young people from across the country to develop skills and test their knowledge.
Congratulations to the Constitution teams from Lincoln and Grant High Schools, who both placed in the top ten in the We the People National Finals! 🧵
The Paralympians and Olympians from Oregon represent the best of our state. I’m pleased to celebrate their hard work and dedication. Congratulations to all the athletes on their achievements!
Gutting research offices and barring federal researchers from accessing essential science data and funding sets us back as a country. This administration needs to recognize that isolationism suffocates US innovation and scientific leadership.
If RFK truly cared about our kid’s health and well-being, he would get the administration to keep ICE OUT of schools and child care centers and away from children.
I will not stop fighting for the hardworking Oregonians who just want to provide for themselves and their families.
Donald Trump is misleading the American people about the economy, but he cannot deny reality. People from every corner of NW Oregon have called my office because chaotic tariffs, rising premiums, and explosive gas prices are straining their pocketbooks. 🧵
Anti-science. Anti-vaccine. Anti-Health. RFK is dangerous for our nation’s children and most vulnerable. He should resign and let someone with real qualifications take his place.
