The federal government shuts down at midnight, and Congressional Republicans are doing nothing to stop it.
Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal is a friend and a colleague who has served her constituents and our country with distinction. Threats against her, or against any public servant, are unacceptable and must be condemned in the strongest possible terms.
We cannot and must not allow threats, intimidation, or violence to determine who serves, whose voices are heard, or the future of our democracy.
Political violence of any kind, against any person, has no place in America. It kills, it silences, and it seeks to replace debate and democracy with fear and force.
Our nation stands at a dangerous crossroads. At a time when political violence has already taken lives and shaken faith in our democracy, any and all calls for violence are not just divisive, they are incendiary. They fuel extremism and put lives at risk.

To help students and parents learn more about the academies and the Congressional nomination process, I’m hosting a series of Service Academy Information Nights across #VenturaCounty and the Conejo Valley.
Every year, I have the privilege of nominating students from our district to attend one of our nation’s five prestigious U.S. Service Academies.
Our public lands connect us to nature, boost our local economy, and sustain our local ecosystems. As these lands continue to come under attack, I will continue fighting to protect and preserve these spaces so future generations can enjoy and cherish them as we do today.
Today on #NationalPublicLandsDay, we celebrate the incredible public lands that make Ventura County and the Conejo Valley so special – from Channel Islands National Park to Los Padres National Forest to the Santa Monica Mountains, and to our beaches, parks, and open spaces.
As a member of the Reproductive Freedom Caucus, I will continue fighting to ensure every person can make their own choices about their body, their health, and their future.
These supplies are wanted, needed, and already paid for. Incinerating them would not only waste taxpayer dollars but also deny care that saves and transforms lives. This is not only fiscally irresponsible, it is ideology standing in the way of health, choice, and freedom.
