Your family’s economic security and hard-earned retirement savings depend on a Federal Reserve that makes decisions guided by data — not politics.
That’s what we’re fighting to defend.

Democrats and Republicans have long agreed: a strong economy requires a Federal Reserve free from political interference.
When Donald Trump attacks the Fed’s independence, he risks spiking prices, rattling markets, and undermining confidence in our economy.

The Federal Reserve must remain independent.
Moving to fire Lisa Cook is Trump’s latest attack on institutions designed to be immune from political pressure.
This is reckless and carries enormous consequences for our economy.

The Burmese military must be held accountable for genocide and crimes against humanity committed against the Rohingya people.
We must pass the Burma GAP Act to support Rohingya refugees and pursue accountability for these crimes.
I am deeply disturbed by reports of unsafe and inhumane conditions inside the Moss Federal Building in Sacramento.
Allegations that people in ICE detention are being denied safe sleeping space, adequate food and water, sanitation, and ventilation demand immediate inspection.

In Congress, I will continue fighting to protect and strengthen Social Security to keep this promise alive for the next 90 years and beyond.
But the Trump Administration has put that future in jeopardy by firing thousands of staff and even proposing privatizing Social Security.
This is unacceptable.
For 90 years, it has delivered on that promise for millions, including more than 127,000 CA-06 residents who currently receive Social Security benefits.
Social Security is a promise. After a lifetime of hard work and paying into the program, Americans earn the dignity of a secure retirement.
Donald Trump promised to lower costs for American consumers.
His tariffs do the opposite. They are a tax on hardworking American families.
This will further reduce access to care and increase wait times for essential services for veterans.
This is unacceptable. VA facilities should be fully staffed so every veteran can get the timely, high-quality care they deserve.
Most are direct care providers including nurses, doctors and specialists in critical areas like mental health, surgery, cancer treatment, and heart care.
Instead of addressing these shortages, the Trump Administration plans to cut 29,000 VA jobs by the end of September.
The independent watchdog for the Department of Veterans Affairs has identified severe staffing shortages at the VA Northern California Health Care System in Mather. 🧵

Donald Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill" is driving a major transfer of wealth from the poorest Americans to the richest.
This is not what supporting working families looks like.

This law includes federal protections to ensure that no married LGBTQ+ or interracial couple will have to fear that their marriage will be invalidated by conservatives on the Supreme Court.
The fight is not over. We must protect the freedom to marry who you love, wherever you live.
