In Sacramento County, more than 1 in 4 of our neighbors face food insecurity.
Right now, the Senate is voting on President Trump’s so-called “Big, Beautiful Bill” — legislation that makes devastating cuts to food assistance programs like SNAP.

I share Senator Hawley’s concerns about how Trump’s “beautiful” bill strips health care from millions of working-class Americans.
That’s why I voted NO.
Republicans must stand up to Trump and defeat this harmful bill.

CAPAC strongly condemns Congressman Ogles' bigoted, racist, and anti-Muslim comments about Zohran Mamdani.
This type of conduct is completely unacceptable and has no place in our country.

By supporting President Trump's so-called "Big Beautiful Bill," Republicans are showing us that they are more afraid of Donald Trump than they are of hurting their own constituents.
I urge my Republican colleagues to stand up to Trump and vote NO on this harmful bill.

Mr. President, this is false. Your proposed cuts would strip Medicaid from millions of Americans—putting the health of children, seniors, and people with disabilities at risk.
The American people deserve honesty from their leaders.
Ten years ago today, the Supreme Court ruled that marriage equality is the law of the land.
Since then, I’ve been proud to vote for the Respect for Marriage Act to codify the right to marry who you love into federal law.
Love is love.

This is unacceptable. Health care decisions should be made by patients, not by politicians or judges.
As a doctor, I know this puts women’s health at serious risk. It allows states to strip millions of women of access to the lifesaving care Planned Parenthood provides and denies them the right to choose their own doctor.
Today’s Supreme Court ruling lets states cut off Medicaid patients from Planned Parenthood—even for cancer screenings and preventive care.

It is incumbent upon the Trump administration to come before Congress to explain the rationale behind its strikes on Iran and clarify what the endgame is.
Members of Congress should not be learning about critical national security decisions through Truth Social.

President Trump needs to come to Congress and lay out the objectives and long-term goals of any U.S. military action in Iran.
There is no appetite in America for another prolonged war in the Middle East.

160 years ago today, news of the Emancipation Proclamation reached the last enslaved Americans in Galveston, Texas.
On Juneteenth, we reflect on our nation’s progress, honor Black resilience, and renew our commitment to the fight for equality and justice for all.
Parker’s artwork won the most votes out of 23 pieces of art sent in by talented high school students throughout our district this April.
I recently had the pleasure of welcoming our district’s winner of the 2025 Congressional Art Competition to my office in D.C.
Parker, a student at El Camino High School in Sacramento, won with his piece “The Conflagration of Man.”
Proud to see this talented young artist represent our district! 🎨
