Senate Republicans are letting a House-passed bill to extend ACA tax credits collect dust while millions suffer. Because of their inaction, 330,000 Ohioans are facing skyrocketing healthcare premiums. So much for making America healthy again.
The uninsured rate hit a record low under President Biden, but after Trump’s cuts to Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act, millions have lost coverage. MAGA Republicans denied the impact when they passed Trump’s Big Ugly Law, but the numbers don’t lie. www.forbes.com/sites/joshua...
On this day in 1935, the Social Security Act was signed into law, creating a vital lifeline for millions of older Americans and people with disabilities. Today, we must protect and strengthen Social Security so every generation can count on the benefits they have earned.
Trump’s Big Ugly Law made the largest cuts to food assistance in history. Now, with prices rising, people in NE Ohio are losing benefits, and more cuts are on the way. This is wrong – that’s why I filed legislation to cancel the cuts and restore SNAP. www.axios.com/local/clevel...
Millions have seen their healthcare premiums TRIPLE.   Now, insurers want to jack up costs by another 15%.   Mind you... the House passed legislation to extend the ACA tax credits. Yet, Senate Republicans are letting it collect dust while millions struggle to get by. SHAME.
My legislation to rename the Collinwood Post Office after Six Triple Eight Vet & Cleveland Native, Alma Minter, just cleared Senate committee & now will head to the Senate floor. Excited to see us closer to honoring the legacy of a local WWII servicemember and her entire historic unit.
61 years ago the Voting Rights Act was signed into law – landmark legislation that got Jim Crow out of election laws. But today the VRA has been torn to shreds and a new battle for voting rights is underway. As we fight to restore the VRA, let’s breakdown how we got here.
