When the Trump Admin cut funding for the Manufacturing Extension Partnership, they threatened Oregon businesses – so we fought back, and we won. Today, we’re celebrating over $2 million in funding heading to the program to support job creation & our local economies. bynum.house.gov/media/press-...
Minutiae?? These are people's LIVES we're talking about. Over 180,000 people in my district could lose healthcare if Republicans have their way. This is the largest cut to Medicaid in our nation's history – it's a pretty big deal.
Last week’s Supreme Court decision leaves Planned Parenthood able to be kicked off of state Medicaid programs. Now, Republicans want to defund it completely. This is incredibly dangerous and will leave an unimaginable number of people without care.
🚨The Republican Big Ugly Bill defunds Planned Parenthood.🚨 Planned Parenthood provides cancer screenings, STI testing and more—one in three women in America have gone to a Planned Parenthood for care. We’re fighting like hell because women deserve better.
I’m on my way back to Washington this week to vote against the trash budget, again. This bill has nothing for you or me, just for billionaires. It hurts Oregonians, and I can’t get behind that.
When the "Big, Beautiful Bill" left the House, it added $2.4 trillion to the debt. Now, that number is up to $3.3 trillion. Ripping healthcare away from millions of Americans AND failing to address the national debt? I've been saying it: trash. apnews.com/article/cbo-...
Ahead of wildfire season, I organized a meeting with the Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs, state and federal forest service workers, Bureau of Land Management fire staff, and representatives from the Deschutes National Forest to discuss how to best prepare.
Whether it be for work or vacation, flying should always be safe and reliable. The $8.3 million coming to Roberts Field Airport in Redmond will allow for infrastructure improvements so that Oregonians can have a 10/10 flight experience every time.
Republicans’ trash budget is now in the Senate, where even more cuts to essential programs are being discussed. If they have it their way, hundreds of rural hospitals will be forced to close while the rich get richer.
Redmond, you were great. Thank you for asking difficult questions – without tough conversations, change is not possible. And shoutout Mayor Fitch for emceeing! The next town hall will be a call-in about Social Security. Be on the lookout for more information!
Today's SCOTUS decision threatens the checks and balances at the core of our democracy. If you are born in America you are an American. Full stop. I'm in the fight with all of you to protect birthright citizenship. We aren't backing down anytime soon.
BREAKING: The Supreme Court limited judges' power on nationwide injunctions, leaving the fate of Trump's birthright citizenship order unclear.
Republicans are continuing to push for their trash budget, which rips Medicaid away from our hospitals and our communities. This week, I met with nurses from CD5 who shared a bit about the devastating impacts this will have on our districts, and patients who come to them for care.
Today's vote on H.R. 875 was just another unproductive and vengeful attempt to vilify immigrants. Come up with a real policy and stop wasting my time. I voted no.
Today marks 10 years since marriage equality became law in the United States, and love won 🏳️‍🌈 Everyone deserves the freedom to love who they love without fear. Our work in the fight for equality is far from finished – we won't let up.
As a mom of four, investing in America’s youth is top priority. That's why I'm introducing the Connecting Students to Mental Health Services Act, to ensure our kids in rural and high-poverty areas have access to the support they need to thrive now and for generations to come.
The Supreme Court just gave states the green light to kick Planned Parenthood off their Medicaid programs. We're talking about life-saving care here – cancer screenings, prenatal support, you name it. This leaves millions in danger, and will have devastating consequences.
BREAKING: The Supreme Court allows states to cut off Medicaid funding to Planned Parenthood.
It’s important to me to hear directly from you – your stories fuel our fight against the Trump administration. If you or someone you know has been impacted by Republican policies, please share your stories with me below. 🔗: forms.gle/bzaiimERDJmc...
Today, I stood proudly with my colleague @replamonica.bsky.social, who was arrested for conducting oversight – her job as a Member of Congress. We will not let the President continue to punish those who dare to disagree.
As wildfire season approaches, we need to be making sure that Oregonians have what they need to prepare, respond, and recover. Instead, the President is cutting funding and laying off firefighters. Our communities can't afford this reckless behavior. It's time to get smart.
