Voting by mail is safe and secure. A new USPS rule could delay postmarks, preventing mail-in voters’ ballots from being counted. I’ll continue to push back against any actions that would undermine our elections or make it harder to vote. My letter to the Trump Administration⬇️

Today, on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we honor the memory of the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust and millions of other victims of Nazism. May we never forget these atrocities.
International Holocaust Remembrance Day: We Remember.
When a federal officer kills a U.S. citizen amid a pattern of unlawful enforcement practices, there must be accountability and change. I will not vote for additional funding for DHS or ICE this week.
President Trump has crossed the line. Americans will not stand for masked, armed troops roaming their neighborhoods. ICE is not trained in this capacity and should not be on streets. This incident should be investigated immediately and not politicized by the President.
NEW: Man fatally shot by federal agents in Minneapolis identified as 37-year-old ICU nurse Alex Jeffrey Pretti, family members tell the AP.
The new Clark College Advanced Manufacturing Center in Ridgefield is open! With over $3 million in federal support, the Center will provide more opportunities for Southwest Washington residents to gain the skills they need to land good-paying jobs.

Today, we honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., a legendary civil rights leader, drum major for justice, and American hero. As we face new attacks on our civil rights, Dr. King's legacy inspires us to fight against injustice, stand for equality, and work together to defend hard-won freedoms.

I see the President released a one-page health care framework today. Mr. President, today is the end of open enrollment. 80,000 people in Washington state are at risk of losing their health insurance. We need more than a one-page plan.
Today on National #KoreanAmericanDay, we honor the enduring mark Korean Americans have left on our culture & politics. I join in celebrating the Korean American community’s many contributions which make WA a better place to live, work, & raise a family.
Instead of working to lower these costs, this Administration’s tariff policies and assault on renewable and alternative energy is only driving them higher. Consumers are feeling the pain from broken promises. (2/2)
President Trump promised to lower prices on day one. He has not. In fact, the Bureau of Labor Statistics said today that consumer prices are 2.7 percent higher than a year ago. The price of groceries are up 2.4 percent and electricity prices are up by 6.7 percent. (1/2)
Breaking news: Inflation remained elevated in December, closing out a year of stubbornly high prices complicated by tariffs and a government shutdown.
The Roadless Rule -- which limits clear-cutting and roadbuilding in America’s last remaining pristine forests -- turns 25 today! I've fought for the Rule since 2001 because Washingtonians depend on our 2 million acres to safeguard clean drinking water sources and our $25+billion outdoor rec economy.
Sen. Cantwell at Roadless Rule rally
Voting by mail is safe, trackable, and encourages high turnout. Washington helped pioneer vote-by-mail, and our voters have used it to participate in our democracy for years. I hope this ruling will stop those who would undermine our elections or make it harder to vote. komonews.com/news/politic...
I'm already hearing from Washingtonians whose health insurance costs have skyrocketed this year because this crucial tax credit expired -- one Seattleite told me her health insurance premium went from $72 a month to $600 a month. (2/3)
