With Americans demanding action to lower housing costs, Congress has an opportunity to pass bipartisan, comprehensive housing legislation like my HOME Reform Act to ensure every family has access to affordable housing. I’ll keep fighting until we get the job done. cleaver.house.gov/media-center...
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to speak with members of the National Housing Conference about the work I’m doing with Rep. Flood and @ushousefsc.bsky.social to cut through red tape, expand the supply of affordable housing, and lower housing costs for hardworking families.
Affordability may not feel real to a billionaire president—but it’s everything to working-class families trying to stay afloat financially. Unfortunately, the president is completely out of touch and does not care about the concerns of the American people.
Q: You talk about affordability. Are the American people getting impatient with the reforms you're making? TRUMP: I think they're getting fake news from guys like you. Look, affordability is a hoax that was started by Democrats.
The president’s tariff taxes continue to drive up prices, kill good-paying jobs, and crush American small businesses. Republicans in Congress must join with Democrats to put an end to these reckless trade policies before more damage is done.
🚨 CNBC on latest jobs numbers: "A big miss on ADP payrolls. The private payroll company saying private payrolls shed 32,000 workers in Nov. That's the 4th negative number in past 6 months. The estimate was for +40,000, so the street was off ... this may be coming from being hammered by the tariffs"
Whether it’s a loved one with cancer or a friend with diabetes, someone you know is alive today because of a medical breakthrough or essential research that is funded by the NIH. Cutting this funding will only lead to more unnecessary pain in our communities. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...
None of God’s children are “garbage.” This kind of hateful rhetoric is despicable and does nothing to keep our communities safe. In fact, it only inflames tensions and leads to unnecessary violence. Immigrants have always been a vital part of what makes America great—and they always will be.
Trump on Somalis: "We're gonna go the wrong way if we keep taking in garbage into our country. Ilhan Omar is garbage. She's garbage. Her friends are garbage."
President Trump just pardoned a corrupt politician that was convicted of flooding our streets with at least 400 TONS of deadly drugs. Once again, he puts the wealthy and well-connected above the American people.
NEW: In a letter to Trump, Juan Orlando Hernandez cast himself as the victim of “political persecution” by Biden's DOJ & compared his fate to Trump's. Trump announced a pardon of Hernandez hours after receiving the letter. Hernandez was freed from prison yesterday, per the Bureau of Prisons.
“This year, it’s $295 per month.” “And if the [ACA] subsidies go away Jan. 1, the price will be $1,216 per month, a 312% increase.” By killing ACA tax credits, Republicans are driving up the health care costs of hardworking Missouri families. missouriindependent.com/2025/11/26/m...
We’re now a full month into ACA Open Enrollment—and Republicans still don’t have a plan to prevent health care costs from skyrocketing on working-class families. It’s time they joined with Democrats to extend ACA tax credits that lower costs for the people.
Republicans promised a vote before the end of the year on expiring health care subsidies. Several have offered proposals, though it is not clear whether they can achieve sufficient support to pass the Senate.
On World AIDS Day, we remember the friends and loved ones lost to HIV/AIDS. Let us honor their memory by renewing our commitment to ending the stigma, advancing innovative treatments, and finding a cure.
70 years ago today, Rosa Parks was arrested for refusing to give up her seat on a city bus in Montgomery, Alabama. As we remember this key moment in the Civil Rights Movement, may we honor her courage by recommitting to advancing equality and justice for ALL Americans.
We have so much to be grateful for in the United States of America. Today, I’m wishing everyone in #MO05 and across the country a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends.
