Just before this, the Fox-News-host-turned-Defense-Secretary said the role of the military was to “kill people and break things.”
The president is openly turning the military against the American people he is sworn to serve.
It’s dangerous and should be condemned universally.
I’m deeply disappointed that Republicans in control of the White House, Senate, and House of Representatives have caused the first federal shutdown since 2019.
I know that many Missourians have questions and concerns.

After making the largest cut to Medicaid in history, Republicans are working to allow ACA tax credits to expire, which will more than double health care premiums for millions of Americans
We're fighting to stop this partisan attack on Americans’ health care

House Democrats just tried to keep government open and lower health care costs, but House Republicans blocked us.
Republicans would rather shut down the government than make health care more affordable.
Republicans control the House, Senate, and White House.
And with the funding deadline looming, House Republicans are on vacation while Democrats are in D.C. ready to prevent another harmful Republican shutdown.
It’s about time they put people over politics.
Republicans know that their partisan spending bill will allow ACA tax credits to expire, which will drive up healthcare costs for hardworking families nationwide.
So, they’re lying about it.
Democrats won't stop fighting to lower health costs For The People!

Grocery prices are soaring as the president’s tariff taxes continue to drive-up the cost of everyday goods that American families depend on.
It’s time that Republicans in Congress helped put an end to this reckless experiment.

If Republicans are successful in ending Affordable Care Act tax credits, 46,000 Missourians in #MO05 will see their health care costs skyrocket.
With families already struggling to stay afloat, I refuse to support Republicans’ partisan spending bill that will further drive-up costs.
Republicans would rather shut down the government than work with Democrats to help millions of Americans afford their health care.
We won’t stop fighting to lower health care costs for hardworking families.

No one should have to fear for their life while in a place of worship.
I am heartbroken over the despicable attack on the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc Township, Michigan this weekend.
My prayers are with the victims, their families, and the entire community.
Government funding runs out tomorrow—but Republicans continue to push a partisan spending bill that will cause health care costs to soar.
If the government shuts down, President Trump and Republicans in control of the House and Senate have only themselves to blame.
Days after the president publicly called on his Attorney General to prosecute his personal enemies, the DOJ indicts Jim Comey.
This is a five-alarm fire in the fight for our democracy.
We must not give in to this authoritarian attack on the rule of law.
Using public servants as hostages to try to jam a partisan CR through Congress is disgraceful.
Instead of threatening the livelihoods of these hardworking Americans, which will undermine the entire economy, the President should show some leadership and negotiate a bipartisan spending agreement.
The Trump administration instructed federal agencies to prepare for mass layoffs if the government shuts down Oct. 1, after federal funding runs out. https://wapo.st/48zk5qN
“Working-class Americans — already up against waning wage growth & rising housing & electricity costs — are easily burned by any increase in grocery prices & tariff-fueled increases”
“I think it’s pretty obvious that the consumer is not in a great place"

Public health decisions must be based on stringent medical studies and scientific evidence, not politics and popular conspiracies.
The Trump administration’s misinformation about vaccines and other medications are dangerous and will have consequences for years to come.
The man sued for racial housing discrimination is rolling back Fair Housing Laws.
As Americans struggle to keep up with the cost of housing, these actions will only exacerbate the crisis by eliminating protections for working class & minority families.

After making the largest cut to Medicaid in history, Republicans would rather force another harmful shutdown than work with Democrats to lower healthcare costs for American families.
As President Trump walks away from bipartisan negotiations, the chances of another harmful Republican shutdown have increased.
Republicans must come back to the table and negotiate a bipartisan funding agreement that lowers healthcare costs and avoids a painful shutdown!
Shanah Tovah!
Wishing all those celebrating in #MO05 a very happy Rosh Hashanah.
May this season of renewal bring you and your family peace, joy, and good health.
