Grateful to members of IAFF Local 42, 1055, and 3133 for stopping by my office in Washington to discuss how Congress can better support our local firefighters.
I’ll keep fighting to ensure you get the federal funding you need to keep our communities and first responders safe!

I’m deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Congressman Sylvester Turner.
As a former Mayor of Houston and Representative of the 18th District of Texas, he leaves a legacy of public service and commitment to community.
May he rest in peace, and may his memory be a blessing.

Thank you @cleaver.house.gov for lifting up #fairhousing as you begin today’s hearing about the country’s lack of housing supply.
Last night, I joined Maxine Waters and Financial Services Committee Democrats as we traveled to HUD to demand an end to the Trump Administration’s efforts to obliterate the agency and programs that support affordable housing for American families.
#HandsOffHousing!
Another massive handout to a bloodthirsty dictator in Vladimir Putin, at the expense of Ukrainian warriors who are on the frontlines in the battle for freedom and democracy.
Congress appropriated this funding to Ukraine, and we must ensure it is delivered as intended.
Rather than working with our longtime allies and trading partners to lower costs for hardworking families, President Trump has started a trade war that will ensure every American sees higher costs at the grocery store.
An unnecessary setback to America’s economic recovery.
March is Women’s History Month, a time to honor the contributions of women and celebrate the bold, groundbreaking achievements of American women in every field.
As we honor the bravery of the trailblazing women who came before us, let us continue the ongoing fight for gender equality.
As President Trump and Elon Musk work to dismantle the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, House Democrats and I are fighting to keep this cop on the beat to protect hardworking American families from financial scammers.

It’s become abundantly clear that the Trump Administration is seeking to throw Ukraine to the Russian wolves.
It is incumbent on Congress to exert its independent powers to continue support for our democratic friends who are resisting Putin’s despicable invasion.
This is the most embarrassing and shameful moment I’ve ever witnessed from the Oval Office.
American leadership publicly siding with a Dictator in Vladimir Putin and berating a democratic friend in Ukraine will not be forgotten by any nation around the world.
President Trump, co-president Musk, and their benefactor billionaires from Wall Street are working to gut Social Security so they can give themselves trillions in tax cuts.
Stealing from the working class to further enrich the unfathomably wealthy. It’s reverse Robin Hood on steroids.
President Trump’s gag order on public health agencies is harming efforts to contain the bird flu outbreak, which is putting public health at risk & driving up egg prices.
I joined @delauro.house.gov & 83 other House Democrats to demand the gag order be lifted & inter-agency collaboration restored.
Work requirements don’t get people back to work, they just create another layer of bureaucracy to kick people off the rolls.
The GOP is just afraid to admit they're trying to rip healthcare away from working class Americans to fund tax cuts for their billionaire donors.
I'm proud to stand with @sylviagarcia.house.gov in supporting the American Dream and Promise Act.
Dreamers strengthen our communities, fuel our economy, and deserve a pathway to citizenship.
Their future is our future. #HomeIsHere
President Trump’s extreme actions to prevent transgender youth from obtaining the healthcare they need puts lives at risk.
These decisions should be left between families and their doctors, which is why I joined @balint.house.gov to call for an end to these policies.

If President Trump and co-President Musk move forward with this, it will mean more delays, disruptions, and denial of benefits for Americans trying to access Social Security.
It’s a backdoor cut to a program that is overwhelmingly supported by the American public.

Farmers are already facing difficult economic situations amid rising input costs.
Now they are also dealing with canceled grants & contracts, which are hindering their ability to stay afloat.
That’s why I sent a letter to USDA to resume funding & reinstate staff.

Last night, rather than working to lower grocery costs for American families, House Republicans passed a budget proposal that would hand an annual tax cut of $314,000 to the top 0.1% of Americans.
The GOP is focused on their billionaire donors, not hardworking families.

Many Missouri families are struggling with America’s housing affordability crisis.
Yet, the Trump Administration is enacting draconian cuts at HUD which will only exacerbate our challenge to expand access to safe, stable, and affordable housing.

As Republicans in Congress work to pass another handout to their billionaire donors, I voted against their budget proposal that would ensure working class families in Missouri face higher costs on everything from healthcare to groceries.
