135,000 Missourians in #MO05 rely on programs like CHIP and Medicaid to obtain healthcare. As Republicans in Congress push for up to $880 BILLION in cuts to these programs, I hope that just a handful will stand with Democrats to #ProtectOurCare www.americanprogress.org/article/the-...
Led by lawmakers who have lived in public housing, we want the #CongressionalPublicHousingCaucus to be a resource that provides expertise and lived experience to lawmakers on Capitol Hill, ensuring that Congress continues to provide safe and stable shelter for millions of our fellow Americans.
As President Trump and Republicans work to slash federal investments in affordable housing, I launched the #CongressionalPublicHousingCaucus with @repgregorymeeks.bsky.social , @lynch.house.gov and @repritchie.bsky.social to #ProtectPublicHousing!
As long as Elon Musk & President Trump continue to harass hardworking civil servants, I will push back against the chaotic effort to purge America’s federal workforce. Enough is enough. Let these public officials do their jobs on behalf of the American people! www.kctv5.com/2025/02/24/c...
Today, House Republicans plan to vote on one of the largest redistributions of wealth in American history, providing trillions in tax breaks for the wealthiest Americans, paid for by cuts to programs that working class families depend upon. I’ll be voting no. www.cbsnews.com/news/budget-...
As Elon Musk & Donald Trump fire hardworking civil servants at the IRS campus in Kansas City, a bipartisan group of former IRS Commissioners explain why such actions at the beginning of tax season will be a headache for taxpayers and costly to the nation. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/24/o...
This week, I’m in D.C. to oppose the Republican budget scheme that betrays the middle class by cutting Medicaid and food assistance programs while giving huge tax breaks to billionaires like Donald Trump and Elon Musk. @housedemocrats.bsky.social will fight against the #RepublicanRipOff
President Trump’s federal funding freezes are delaying critical local projects in #MO05 and preventing Missouri families from accessing programs they depend upon. I spoke with @kmbc9.bsky.social to discuss the impact on our communities. Listen here: www.kmbc.com/article/rep-...
From gutting critical services and freezing congressionally authorized funding, to firing hardworking federal employees, the 1st month of the 2nd Trump Administration has been filled with chaos & confusion. I’ll keep fighting to protect our communities from the madness. www.kcur.org/podcast/up-t...
Trump, Musk, and the GOP have fired civil servants responsible for health and public safety, caused disruptions for small businesses, and undermined critical government services. We want to hear how these actions have affected you. Share your stories here: democraticleader.house.gov/shareyourstory
The shockingly shortsighted decision to fire committed public servants in Kansas City will not only leave these Americans hanging out to dry, but it will also undermine essential services right in the middle of tax season and harm our local economy. www.kmbc.com/article/kans...
Thank you to everyone who joined my Tele-Town Hall last night! I know there are many concerns about the chaos coming from Washington and the impact it will have on Missouri families. Together, we’ll keep fighting to uphold the rule of law and protect our communities. fox4kc.com/news/rep-ema...
🚨 Join me tomorrow for a Tele-Town Hall to discuss the Trump administration’s actions & how they’re impacting our communities. Your voice matters & I look forward to hearing from you! 📅 2/20 @ 6:30 PM CST 📞: 855-927-0892 💻: access.live/Cleaver Bring your questions—let’s talk!
“If there’s no one watching, if the risk of getting caught goes down, more companies will bend the law to make money.” Democrats created the CFPB to protect American families from predatory financial schemes. The billionaires want to go back to ripping you off. apnews.com/article/trum...
Important reminder that roughly one-third of America’s federal employees are veterans. As President Trump and Elon Musk accelerate their efforts to illegally fire civil servants in every department, it’s the men and women who have served who will be most impacted.
DOGE in practice: Disabled Army veteran who has 4 kids and did 3 tours overseas is fired from his job at Bronx VA hospital
“Civil servants are the backbone of our democracy. They keep our communities safe, our economy strong, and our government accountable” As President Trump continues to harass America’s federal workers, I’ll keep fighting to protect these patriots and uphold the law. www.kctv5.com/2025/02/14/m...
