I’ll be on CNN Jake Tapper at 6 o’clock Eastern time tonight. We’ll be talking about the redistricting in Tennessee or the possibility thereof because of the Supreme Court gutting of section 2 of the voting rights act

Trump and the GOP are coming for the power of Black voters in Memphis. They emasculated the VRA—now Trump needs to finish the job by November to save his majority in Congress. I'm not backing down. My team and I are already in touch with experienced voting rights attorneys to try and stop this.

Trump's SCOTUS just weakened the Voting Rights Act, effectively undoing the work of MLK, John Lewis and so many others. The VRA has has guaranteed minority voters the right to elect the representatives of their choice for generations. Representation is power—that's what they want to take away.
King Charles underscored our shared values and long history of mutual aid—and used his platform to reinforce them. His reminder of NATO, support for Ukraine against a genocidal Russian threat, attention to climate change & protections for people of all faiths was important for the Chamber to hear.
standing ovation after King Charles sings the praises of NATO and says "that same unyielding resolve is needed for the defense of Ukraine"

"The US Supreme Court..has calculated that Magna Carta is cited in at least 160 Supreme Court cases since 1789, not least as the foundation of the principle that executive power is subject to checks and balances." A British King just did a better law interpreting US law than some Justices have...
Indicting James Comey over a photo of seashells is clearly an abuse of power. The photo was never a threat, but they know that—we are seeing a vindictive president weaponize the DOJ against his perceived enemies. The First Amendment to the United States Constitution exists to stop exactly this.
Comey: Well, they're back. This time about a picture of seashells on a North Carolina beach a year ago. And this won't be the end of it. But nothing has changed with me. I'm still innocent. I'm still not afraid. And I still believe in the independent federal judiciary. So let's go.
While you’re busy working, Republicans in Congress today are targeting the FACE Act so that their most extreme supporters can trample other people’s rights. We could be cracking down on corrupt pardons—instead, the GOP is busy repealing laws that protect people’s freedoms. This ends in November.
Had an inspiring time at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis 55th annual Steak N’ Burger Dinner with UofM Hall of Famer and NBA World Champion, Earl Barron and V101’s Stan Bell. High school junior, Kennedy Davis gave a remarkable speech about the impact the Girls Club has had on her life.
Trump’s presidency has been about corruption and self-dealing—and polluters are cashing in while we pay the price. Our tax dollars, our families, our earth. Our planet can’t afford another 4 years of this. We have to fight for clean air, clean water and future generations—on Earth Day & every day.
I cosponsored articles of impeachment against Pete Hegseth. Hegseth is the most unqualified SecDef in history. He helped launch Trump’s unconstitutional war in Iran, endangered US servicemembers, and has committed war crimes—including attacks on children. He needs to be removed from office.

If you live in Virginia, tomorrow you have a huge opportunity to make it clear to the GOP that if they want to win, it won’t be by changing the rules and redrawing maps. At least, not without a fight. Vote YES on the redistricting vote, and push back!
The YEARS of progress to move cannabis out of Schedule I has stalled under Trump, with the DEA acting like the Strait of Hormuz. Thousands are still in federal prison for non-violent marijuana offenses. Proud to stand with advocates on 4/20 today pushing pardons, clemency, and real reform.
"The worst of the worst" was a lie. Todd Lyons was a key part of that lie. His ICE agents spent a year ripping apart families and killing Americans who protested it. Now he wants to join the private sector and spend more time with HIS family. A golden parachute won't let him escape accountability.
JUST IN: Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons will leave his post next month, capping a yearlong tenure rife with national outrage over the agency's crackdown.

Black women are nearly 3 times more likely than white women to die from pregnancy-related complications. This is unacceptable. House Democrats are working hard to pass the #Momnibus to save moms’ lives and put an end to the maternal health crisis.
Ketch Secor and Molly Tuttle to headline the Overtonnpark Shell show Friday night. "The old Crow medicine show." It'll be a great show by two. Great people, splendid performers and even better human beings. I'll be there.
