UK hit with nationwide shortage of the stout days before Christmas GUINESS MOST POPULAR IMPORT IN USA AND SHORTAGES HERE
As a state senator around 1990 I passed “the Guinness bill“ to allow imported Guinness in Tennessee. Previously not allowed because of domestic beer influence in Tennessee !
Trump said he's going to pardon some of the J6 prisoners at his inauguration.
As someone who was in the gallery and then locked in my office in the early morning as insurrectionists tried to overthrow our government and beat police—some to the point of death—I cannot be a part of that spectacle.

I was diagnosed with polio as a child just months before the Salk vaccine was approved. I've lived with the pain and challenges ever since.
The #PolioVaccine WORKS. Revoking it borders on criminal. That's why I'm opposed to #RFKJr as HHS Secretary. Environment, fine. Food, OK. Health, unacceptable.
His record on the environment in New York State superb. And his opposition to big Agg and nutrious foods is right on. No conspiracy stuff.

The same study found a majority of Tennesseans support the federal gov’t NEGOTIATING for lower RX prices. Guess which bill finally gave Medicare and Medicaid the ability to do that? The Inflation Reduction Act.
And who was the only one from TN to vote for it? Me again.
Time to start listening.

The State of TN has bungled its fair share of issues—remember, not a single member of Congress here today voted for the #IIJA except me—but not expanding #Medicaid is one of the worst in recent memory.
It’s cost us $30 BILLION so far. #1 state for medical bankruptcies. @GovBillLee could change that

Lots wrong with it, but one thing was true about Trump's rant on the Electoral College: it's time to abolish it.
I introduced a resolution today to do just that.
Every vote should count equally. Republicans: follow Trump's lead and support my bill! cohen.house.gov/media-center...

This year's FAA reauth bill included my bill (the EVAC Act) to make sure the FAA does more to prioritize passenger safety in emergency evacuation standards—especially for seniors, children & people w/ disabilities.
Lives depend on it, and they should waste no time now that it’s the law. More here 👇
www.nytimes.com/live/2024/12... Wray is a quality FBI Director and a person of rectitude which unfortunately is a liability with the incoming administration. I am saddened that he bowed out to an incoming President who puts himself above law. Signals autocracy.

Pleased to meet w/ @billbrowder.bsky.social and to congratulate him on his well-deserved knighthood!
Bill’s fight for the Magnitsky Act has made him a champion for human rights—and #Putin's #1 enemy. We discussed the need to support #Ukraine & to equip them to counter Putin's imperial ambitions.

🚨 Congress just passed the 2024 Water Resources Development Act & that’s great news for #Memphis & TN-9!
I secured some key wins this year that will boost our economy, protect ~146,000 acres of natural habitats, and improve our quality of life. LOTS more Congress must do, but glad we got this done.

Disappointed that TVA’s draft energy plan proposes so much new fossil gas֫—even as prices remain volatile & #CleanEnergy is becoming less expensive.
That’s why I sent a letter w/ @edmarkey.bsky.social urging TVA to rethink this outdated approach. #Memphis deserves clean air and affordable power.
TVA's comment period closes TODAY. For more on their 2025 energy plan, including how to review it and submit a comment, click here: www.tva.com/environment/...

Matt Gaetz fled Congress before the Ethics Cmte could release its damning report because he knows what’s in it: THE TRUTH about his misconduct.
I'm fighting to #ReleasetheGaetzReport b/c the public paid for it and they deserve to see it—especially when we know Trump is eyeing him for future roles.
