This Memorial Weekend it is important we focus on the things that truly matter, like our duty to ensure the brave men and women who dedicated their lives to serving our country and defending our democratic values always receive the support they need.

If you care about voting rights, if you care about the Constitution, If you care about equality, liberty, and the future of democracy, watch this, please. Nothing will change until we realize SCOTUS is a political arm of MAGA. #ExpandSCOTUS #ExpandtheCourt youtu.be/j1psfo0GiDQ?...
Trump wants taxpayers to subsidize a billion-dollar ballroom for Mar a-Lago culture at the White House while working families are being told there’s no money for housing, healthcare, or lowering costs. That's why I joined an amicus brief challenging this in court.
Ever wonder what you could do with $1.776 billion in Memphis? Trump wants to hand that out to his lackeys, but my colleagues and I introduced the No Taxpayer-Funded Settlement Slush Fund Act to stop him.
Last night I joined Freedom House in celebrating 85 years of defending democracy. I was proud to see one of the freed prisoners, Vladimir Kara-Murza, who I championed as the envoy of the Helsinki Commision for political prisoners, a special part of my career.
Memphis has always been at the center of the fight for civil rights, and this is no different. Overturning the Voting Rights Act takes away from everything Dr. King bled and died fighting for. Alito, Thomas, and Roberts must be impeached.
I love Memphis. I represented Memphis. I fought for Memphis. I’ve lived and breathed Memphis all my life. These new maps don’t represent our city, which is why I am still fighting for Memphis in court.
With the new TN districts broken up 29%, 29%, and 32% Black the only thing not adding up here is the GOP’s claim this new map “isn’t about race”. I’m no mathematician, but if you see a pattern, assume it’s telling you something. Numbers don’t lie— people do.
After 19 years serving the 9th District, I made the decision to not run in the new gerrymandered districts created from it. If the courts restore the current 9th until 2028, I’ll remain a candidate, though that’s unlikely. Representing Memphis for 47 years has been the honor of my lifetime.

The DOJ is reportedly considering dropping any audits of Trump, his family, or his businesses as part of a potential settlement of his bogus lawsuit against the IRS. That’s on top of the $10 billion in damages he wants. This is corruption on steroids — and taxpayers will pay the price.
