I've seen these appalling conditions myself repeatedly, and I have called for Adelanto's closure for a decade. Adelanto must be shut down, once and for all. Until then, we will not stop fighting for transparency, accountability, and humane treatment by Trump’s ICE.
Their demands are simple: clean drinking water, edible food, and adequate medical care. Yet, Adelanto still refuses to provide basic care and detainees are dying.
Yesterday, I visited the Adelanto ICE Processing Center with @aguilar.house.gov & @gomez.house.gov to meet with some of the 150 detainees participating in a hunger strike against unsafe and inhumane living conditions.
They created these barriers on purpose & used the savings to fund tax cuts for billionaires. Learn more at cdss.ca.gov.
Trump's SNAP cuts take effect TODAY.
More than 5 million Californians rely on CalFresh to buy groceries, yet Republicans' Big Ugly Bill could cause an estimated 550,000 Californians to lose these benefits because of new burdensome red tape—not because they no longer qualify.
Happy Pride! 🌈 This June, we celebrate the LGBTQI+ community, honor those who fought for equality, & recommit ourselves to the work that remains. As a Vice Chair of the @equality.house.gov, I’ll always stand with the LGBTQI+ community & continue to work towards a more inclusive future for everyone.
Congratulations to Rancho Cucamonga’s own Shrey Parikh on winning the 2026 Scripps National Spelling Bee! Your talent is astonishing, further demonstrated by you spelling 32 words correctly during the spell-off, a new Bee record. You make CA-28 proud!
Breaking: Shrey Parikh, 14, of California, won the 2026 Scripps National Spelling Bee on Thursday in a spell-off. Parikh spelled 32 words correctly during the spell-off, more than Ishaan Gupta’s 25 words.

From troubleshooting Disaster Home Loan applications to expediting time-sensitive U.S. travel visas, my casework team is ready to help.
Here are just a couple of our recent success stories:
Republicans are letting him do it, and Americans are paying for it every single day.
Gas is above $4 nationwide, groceries & utilities keep getting more expensive, and Trump's war with Iran is a total disaster.
Instead of doing anything to fix this, Trump is focused on building a ballroom for billionaires & giving away taxpayer money to Jan 6 rioters who attacked police officers.
New reports shows inflation is at its highest in 3 years.
And what are Trump’s priorities? Slapping his face on a $250 bill, just to boost his own ego.
Every day he makes it more clear that he doesn't care about the American people, only himself.
Eid Mubarak! Wishing everyone who celebrates in the San Gabriel Valley and across the world a blessed Eid Al-Adha surrounded by family and friends.

That’s why today I introduced a resolution recognizing the massacre, condemning efforts to erase or distort this history, and honoring the contributions of Chinese immigrant laborers who have helped build the United States -- despite enduring exploitation, discrimination, and violence.
The 1885 Rock Springs Chinese Massacre is one of the most horrific and shameful acts of anti-Asian violence in our nation’s history. And for too long, it's gone unacknowledged.

My introduction of the Harry Lew and Danny Chen Military Justice Reform Act is only one part of a bigger fight against military hazing. We need meaningful reforms so deaths like theirs never happen again.
Harry and Danny deserved better. Our servicemembers deserve better.
