Tonight at Trump’s address to Congress, I’m honored to be joined by Dianne Lewis, an Eaton Fire survivor & lifelong educator. Her resilience & dedication to Altadena are so inspiring. She is here to make sure our community receives its fair share of federal support to rebuild.
Trump promised prices would decrease on "Day One" of his presidency. He lied. His reckless, senseless trade wars mean higher prices for all of us. At the car dealership, at the grocery store, at the pump - we'll all suffer. Promises made, promises broken. www.washingtonpost.com/business/202...
Save the date! This Wednesday, March 5, I’m hosting a Telephone Town Hall with California Attoney General Rob Bonta and Democracy Forward's Megan Uzzell. We’ll be discussing the Trump Administration and DOGE, and I’d love for you to join. Tune in for a chance to ask me your questions directly!
Trump will always prioritize his personal financial interests over our national security. Time and again, he sides with aggressors, abusers, and dictators rather than standing with our friends and allies. His actions today weaken the United States and make Americans less safe.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Zelenskyy left White House without signing US-Ukraine critical minerals deal Trump had demanded.
Now isn't the time for business as usual. Earlier this month, @repgwenmoore.bsky.social and I marched to Speaker Johnson’s office to demand answers on Elon Musk’s access to US Treasury payment systems. Good trouble is sometimes necessary. Read more about our meeting: www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnb...

Late last night, DoD issued guidance on how to implement Trump's ban on qualified & capable people serving in the military--just because they're trans. This ban is morally wrong, unconstitutional, and stupid. Full statement from CEC Chair @RepMarkTakano at the link in our bio.
CEC blasts dod’s trans military ban guidance. "The contrast between Donald Trump—who cried “bone spurs” to avoid military service—and the countless transgender Americans who serve their country with valor couldn’t be any clearer. Now, Trump’s Department of Defense has taken the latest steps to oust thousands of qualified, dedicated, and deployable servicemembers simply because he doesn’t like who they are. This is morally wrong, unconstitutional, and stupid,” said Rep. Mark Takano, Chair of the Congressional Equality Caucus.

I just joined over 100 of my @housedemocrats.bsky.social colleagues on the Capitol steps to denounce the Republicans’ budget scheme, which slashes Medicaid betrays the middle class to reward their billionaire donors like Elon. Not one Democrat will be supporting this Republican Rip Off.
Hours after I joined this effort, OPM heeded our demands and backed down, rescinding Musk's legally dubious threat against federal workers. My @housedemocrats.bsky.social colleagues & I won't back down fighting for everyday workers all over the country. thehill.com/policy/natio...
This country is fed up with the wrecking ball Elon Musk and Donald Trump are taking to essential government services. Federal agencies need to regain order right now by telling employees they do NOT have to respond to Elon Musk's absurd email.
Trump's first month has brought us: mass funding and hiring freezes, mass firings of federal employees, and hourly chaos. This is not an exaggeration: these policy choices put us all in danger. One example hits close to home. Literally:
Any short-term savings from the funding freeze, one federal firefighter said, are likely to be eclipsed by the vast resources needed to combat even larger wildfires.
Need something to play on a long road trip this holiday weekend, or on your commute to work soon? @repfletcher.bsky.social & I recently recorded an episode for @demwomencaucus.bsky.social's Madame Congress on repro rights and keeping the faith. Tune in! 🔊: feeds.transistor.fm/madame-congr...
Ever wondered what it’s like to be a woman in the House of Representatives? Tune into Madam Congress! feeds.transistor.fm/madame-congr...
Musk's and Trump's math doesn’t add up. Their 15% NIH cap on certain costs would slash funding and hit California hard. Our research and development industry supports: 🧬1.2 million life sciences jobs 💵$400 billion in economic output 🩺3.7 million patients relying on NIH-backed hospitals
I’m leading 152 of my @housedemocrats.bsky.social colleagues to demand answers on Trump’s illegal cut to NIH research funding. American innovation makes us the envy of the world — we can’t afford cuts to programs that cure disease, grow jobs, and sustain local economies.
