I offered 2 amendments tonight to the GOPRip Off budget:
1. protect Social Security
2. protect the IRS' ability to provide good customer service & hold wealthy tax cheats accountable
@housebudgetdems.bsky.social voted YES. Republicans voted NO. Their betrayal of Americans couldn’t be clearer.

House Republicans work for Elon.
@housebudgetdems.bsky.social and I work for you.
I'll be with my @housebudgetdems.bsky.social all day fighting the Republican's majority's budget that would betray middle class Americans.
Meanwhile, let's remember how the Trump-Vance Administration's illegal actions are faring in our federal courts:
Joining my @housebudgetdems.bsky.social colleagues all day today to fight the Republican-Trump budget—aka the Republican Rip-Off.
The billionaire front row during Trump's inauguration was no accident. This budget cuts health care coverage to shovel more money to billionaires. Contemptible.
Eliminating FEMA, as Trump & Republicans have suggested, would be an unforgiveable mistake.
FEMA employees have been responsive to our LA wildfire survivors, and they have sent over $70 million to tens of thousands of survivors so far to help them recover and rebuild.

When it comes to Putin and Russia, Trump's foreign policy has always been Russia First.
Never America and its allies first.
Earlier this month, I had the privilege of joining CORE, Altadena 7th Day Adventist Church, and the Altadena Town Council to host an Eaton Fire Relief Event. Together, we provided N-95 masks, hygiene kits, & food boxes to those in need.
This morning on CNN with Sara Sidner, I broke down key issues impacting our democracy and national security, including:
➤ Elon Musk’s infiltration into federal agencies
➤ House Democrats’ pushback with the Taxpayer Data Protection Act
➤ Risks of undermining USAID & more!

Budgets are statements of priorities. As Republicans work to gut education, health, and public safety programs to pay for their tax cuts for the wealthy, I'm thrilled to fight back with House Budget Committee Democrats.

Yesterday, Governor Newsom was in Washington to meet with the President and advocate for California.
Beforehand, he met with @repbradsherman.bsky.social, Rep. Whitesides and me to discuss disaster relief for the survivors of the LA fires in our districts.
Thank you, Governor, for fighting for us!
Our takeaways:
• Speaker Johnson hid Bessent from us
• He doesn't know why Musk was given free reign to download our personal info and seize control of your tax dollars
• Even he can't say this is legal
• He promised hearings "next week," when huge damage may already be done
This is unacceptable
Yesterday, @repgwenmoore.bsky.social and I sought answers from U.S. Department of the Treasury Secretary Bessent about why Americans' private information and tax dollars are being stolen by the richest man in the world and his unvetted lackeys. youtu.be/VglsfqQp8l8?...
