These arrests are sickening, and I have grave concerns with how these arrests were reported to have been carried out by ICE. The 31st District is home to many immigrant families who came to our country wanting to contribute to our communities and local economy.
@repharder.bsky.social @repgaramendi.bsky.social and all CA have your people call my people.
Let's get this party started!
Team Harder is trying their best but happy to help my fellow Californian.
Who knew that Southern California members would figure out tech faster than the Northern California member.
President Trump and Vice President Vance's views on Ukraine remain out of touch with reality. Their meeting with President Zelensky was disastrous and disgraceful. Once again, Trump is proving he is nothing more than a stooge for Putin. www.nytimes.com/live/2025/02...
AAPI communities in LA struggled to access emergency alerts during the LA wildfires -- an example of why the President's latest EO is dangerous and dumb. This is another attack on diverse communities that don't fit into Trump's outdated view of America. apnews.com/article/trum...
(3) Republicans need to get their s**t together. They control the White House, they control Congress. If we have a government shutdown, it falls on them and their inability to govern.
(2) Now, House Republicans are talking about a Continuing Resolution (CR) for the remainder of the year. A year long CR would negatively impact our military capabilities and create economic uncertainty and job insecurity. In short, a year long CR hurts the American people and our economy.
(1) The government funding bills should have been completed last year. But House Republicans made the political decision to punt them into 2025 because they wanted to wait for Trump to move into the White House. Well, they got what they wanted, but still haven't been able to pass any new funding.
These are pilots, cyber specialists, medical professionals and leaders at every level — individuals in whom we have invested millions in training and development. "
This investment isn’t just financial; it represents years of specialized training intended to build the next generation of military leadership.
"The cost to our nation’s defense of a ban is substantial and multifaceted. First, we lose qualified service members who are meeting and exceeding our standards.

This administration keeps arguing they want to make merit-based decisions, but they are clearly attacking our transgender servicemembers simply because they are transgender. This decision undermines our military readiness and national security. www.washingtonpost.com/national-sec...
Washington Republicans claim to support families, but their budget slashes Medicaid by $880 billion and disproportionately harms women and children. Their budget is an attack on Americans' health. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/25/u...
It's almost like our government plays an important role in supporting the American economy and Elon is just a grifter. Oh wait, he is just a grifter. www.washingtonpost.com/technology/i...
The GOP budget makes $880 billion in cuts to vital programs like Medi-Cal, school lunch programs, and funding to fix California roads. And it’s all to pay for a $314K tax cut for billionaires. Elon Musk has already bought the Presidency, but House Republicans decided his payout shouldn’t stop.
Republicans seem to think cutting $880B in Medicaid in their budget proposal is a good idea. Millions of Americans would be affected, including over 280,000 people in the 31st. This isn't a game, and Republicans should stop treating it like one.
The guy with no official role has some nerve, to double down on his ultimatum to federal employees even after President Trump's appointed officials said they could ignore his first email. Who’s really in charge? www.reuters.com/world/us/aft...
Speaker Johnson's budget is disastrous for the 31st District. It would make devastating cuts to Medi-Cal, food assistance for our seniors and kids, and funds used to fix our roads. All to pay for tax cuts for billionaires, like Shadow President Elon Musk.

having a partnership across all levels of government is vital to ensuring my district has the representation it deserves in the halls of Congress.
Thank you to the @sgvcog for hosting us this morning. Until next time!
