It doesn’t matter whether you’re progressive or conservative, we all know: collective bargaining is essential for workers. Now it’s time for Republicans in Congress to show whether they’ll vote like they talk — or if they’re all hat and no cattle.
Americans are getting screwed by corrupt politicians and big corporations that are driving up costs while keeping pay and benefits down. Our new Progressive Caucus task forces are focused on solving exactly those problems.
The Houston Chronicle editorial board is calling on Republicans to join me, @repjasmine.bsky.social, and @robertgarcia.bsky.social in investigating Secretary Noem’s botched response to recent flooding. www.houstonchronicle.com/opinion/edit...
People deported in violation of court orders. Kids deported while undergoing life-saving treatment. ICE at schools and churches. This isn’t “law and order.” This is chaos. And it puts all of our rights at risk.
SNAP provides $2 a meal for kids, working people, and seniors. Over 20,000 Texans in my district could lose their SNAP benefits because of Trump’s budget bill. Trump and Republicans are giving tax cuts to billionaires by stealing food from the hungry.
What Trump and Musk have done to Social Security is a scandal. Mass firings. Website crashes. DOGE stealing sensitive data. Longer and longer wait times. Now this. Seniors should not pay the price for Trump and Musk's recklessness. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...
Texans deserve answers about what went right & what went wrong in response to the terrible flooding. I'm joining Ranking Member Garcia & Congresswoman Crockett to demand answers from DHS Secretary Kristi Noem on why it took her 72 hours to approve search and rescue resources. youtu.be/6CrdsizqQLA
Trump’s budget bill takes from the sick to give to the ultra-rich. 17 million people could lose health care. But the wealthy? They get new loopholes, tax breaks, and favors from Washington. Billionaires and big corporations get special treatment. Working people get screwed.
Year after year, Texans face deadlier fires, freezes, and floods. As we continue to support first responders and grieving families after the terrible flooding, we will need investigations at every level of government of what went wrong and what could save lives in future. (1/2)
