As co-chair of the Reproductive Freedom Caucus, I will continue fighting with everything I’ve got until every American has the freedom to make their own health care decisions, without political interference
53 years ago today, Roe v. Wade recognized our Constitutional right to abortion care. Four years ago, an extremist Supreme Court stripped that right away.
Now, Donald Trump and his GOP allies in Congress are pushing for a nationwide abortion ban.
However, I cannot fund an administration that is bombing multiple countries, threatening allies like Denmark and Canada, and ignoring Congress’s role in authorizing the use of force.
This package includes real and meaningful wins for public health, medical research, working families, and communities in Denver. That includes funding for diabetes research and community health clinics.
Good policy can only do so much when this administration continues to act lawlessly, bypass Congress, and drag our country toward unnecessary conflict while demanding ever-growing military budgets.
Two weeks ago, House Democrats forced Republicans to vote on extending vital ACA tax credits, to address the Republican health care crisis and lower costs after their leadership fought tooth and nail against it.
The Senate must now pass it, and Donald Trump must sign it into law immediately.
I just signed the Democratic discharge petition to ban members of Congress, the President, and Vice President from exploiting their position for personal gain.
While Republicans remain silent on Trump’s grifting, this bill will rein in corruption and ban stock trading across Washington.
ICE should be dismantled immediately.
I will not support funding for the Department of Homeland Security when ICE and Border Patrol agents are assaulting protestors, detaining and arresting people with impunity, inciting violence, and shooting and killing American citizens.
Read my statement:
An oil refinery boasted about their "record-breaking year"—860,000 barrels a day, $1.2 billion in profit.
They don't need a handout to pollute. They need to be held accountable for harming communities.
Families shouldn’t have to choose between their health and home to line polluters' pockets.
In Trump’s first year, families spent over $1,600 more on daily necessities while Trump’s family got $1.4 billion richer.
Donald Trump’s priority isn’t making life more affordable for you and your family, it’s exploiting the presidency to enrich himself and his allies.
Earlier today, I was proud to honor Dr. King in a distinctly Denver way at the Marade.
We marched arm-in-arm to celebrate hard-fought victories and to recommit ourselves to confronting injustice wherever it appears—peacefully, boldly, and together without backing down.
Last night was particularly special for me. Singing in the MLK Community Choir alongside so many neighbors and friends reminded me what Dr. King taught us: community is built when we lift our voices together. Grateful for the music, the fellowship, and the call to keep working for justice.
I also visited with Evangelist Jacqueline Moore, Pastor Clover Beal, and Bishop Dr. Jerry Demmer— along with many other clergy, elected officials, community leaders, church members and friends who recognize the importance of continuing our work towards justice.
As I reflected on Dr. King’s work, I shared some encouraging words from my friend and mentor, former Congressman John Lewis, who in difficult times pushed us to “never give up, never give in.”
Last night, we honored Dr. King during an inter-faith service at a church where Dr. King himself once preached while visiting Denver many years ago. Dr. King’s legacy urged us to reject despair and complacency and instead take whatever action we can to unify and help others.
“Despite Trump’s Claims, Grocery Prices Are Rising.”
Because when you slap tariffs on food, send ICE after workers, and gut consumer watchdogs—prices don’t go down.
They go up.
Every time.

Thursday, January 15, is the LAST day to enroll in ACA health coverage starting February 1. After today, you'll likely need a qualifying event to get covered in 2026.
Colorado has new assistance to help lower your monthly costs.
Go to connectforhealthco.com to enroll or to get help if you need it.
ICE is out of control. Their “operations” in Minnesota continue to show their untrained, unqualified agents are doing significant harm.
I will not be voting to fund DHS while Kristi Noem and her thugs are shooting American citizens, launching tear gas at children, and traumatizing our communities.
Secretary Noem must be impeached.
She has obstructed Congressional oversight, directly violated a court order, violated public trust, and engaged in corruption to enrich herself and close associates. She must be held accountable.
