On the 7th anniversary of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas H.S. shooting that took the lives of 17 innocent students & educators, I urge my colleagues to take action to pass legislation to end the gun violence epidemic.
Students must always be safe when in school.

I just got word that Musk & his puppet President are planning on firing half of HUD staff.
Meaning? Seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities will be evicted if they can’t foot the bill.
Do they care? No. Another agency broken to enrich their billionaire cabal.
As Chair of Approps, I secured the NLRB's first federal funding increase since FY10.
This week, @laborcaucus.bsky.social, @sanders.senate.gov and I led 265 bipartisan lawmakers in a letter condemning Trump’s firing of NLRB member Gwynne Wilcox. #ReinstateWilcox
One of the illegally frozen programs is the GRIP Program which helps states protect their power system against extreme weather.
Nearly $2 billion that benefits CT is frozen.
This is money to help CT ensure our power doesn't go out in the middle of a storm.
I released 7 fact sheets yesterday with @repmarcykaptur.bsky.social detailing how President Trump’s funding freeze is raising prices for Americans across the country and making us less safe.

Trump is risking lives & our national security by stealing these resources.
Each court order to unfreeze funds is a test: will Trump & Musk follow the law or continue illegally stealing funds?
Our adversaries like Russia, China, & Iran are watching & celebrating, btw.

The Social Security Administration Office of the Inspector General is warning the public of a new scam trying to lure potential retirement applicants to their site.
THIS EMAIL IS NOT FROM SSA, it is a scam. If you are a victim please report to oig.ssa.gov
RFK Jr. is the largest threat to American health, and Republicans just handed him the reins of our entire system.
I said what I said.
My Fellow Members of Congress: The Constitution is clear— Congress, not the executive branch, has the power of the purse, meaning the power to control federal spending.
I will not surrender the authority of Congress.

What has Trump done to lower costs since taking office? Not a damn thing.
Instead, he’s working to make your child’s education more expensive, so he can give his billionaire friends another tax break.

Trump just fired the USAID Inspector General.
Why? The IG released a report on the negative impact of USAID’s dismantling, including reports that food for hungry people is rotting in warehouses.
$489 million of food grown by American farmers.
THAT is waste.

That's not all—this means 25 million elementary and secondary students nationwide, who have teachers in their classrooms thanks to Title I funding, will lose access to quality education.
Public education is the key to a better life.
Ending public education ends the American Dream.

Happy National Pizza Day! Another year of unbeatable Connecticut pizza—or “Apizza,” as we call it in New Haven.
Thanks to the hard work of our small businesses and local aficionados, Apizza continues to reign supreme.
Don’t say I didn’t warn you—it’s love at first bite🍕

As Trump pretends to find wasteful spending - and many servicemembers face substandard housing - his unqualified Defense Secretary wastes $50K in taxpayer money to repaint his house.
As @democrats-appropriations.house.gov MilCon/VA Ranking Member, I joined @delauro.house.gov to demand answers.
In just two weeks, on the orders of an unelected billionaire, Trump illegally gutted USAID.
The world’s richest men are taking food from children while enriching themselves.
Next up on the chopping block: our schools.
They must be stopped.
I have long been a supporter of a two state solution and a massive surge in humanitarian aid into Gaza. President Trump’s distraction takes us further away from this and our ultimate goal of regional stability and peace.
