[1/2] As Baghdad was bombed 23 years ago, Americans were bombarded with lies. Now, as Tehran is bombed, we are once again being bombarded with lies.

[3/3]...and refusing to turn on neighbors who share neither the gunman’s violence nor his ideology. The gunman sought to make a statement along a sidewalk still marked with crime scene tape. But as a city, we decide what defines us. Let it be unity over hatred.”
[2/3] Now we must heed this powerful message from the Austin American Statesman: “If the spray of gunfire on West Sixth Street was meant to sow fear and division, Austin’s answer must be steadiness and solidarity — mourning the dead, supporting the wounded...
[1/3] The exemplary actions by Austin law enforcement and first responders saved lives. They represented the best of our city on Saturday night.
With so many urgent challenges facing our country, today is the day to make your voice heard. It is not enough to just express rage, make sure it is heard at the ballot box. The big choices that will impact our lives are being made now in this Primary election. Find your polling location here 👇
At a Medal of Honor ceremony, Trump surrounded himself with military heroes who have shown the courage that he never shows. Instead of a clear explanation of his objectives for the illegal war which he has declared against Iran, Trump mumbled on about the WH drapes and his massive new ballroom.
[2/2] As @bgrumet.bsky.social l powerfully noted in the Austin American Statesman, “protest provides an antidote to apathy and affirmation that you are not alone. None of RFK Jr.’s policies changed Friday. But a South Austin community felt a little stronger, a little healthier.”
[1/2] Loving our community and our country also means protecting it from extremist, dangerous agendas. Pleased to see Cunningham families standing up to RFK Jr’s anti-vaccine conspiracy theories that endanger our public health.
In Austin and much of gerrymandered Texas, today will determine who will prevail in the November General Election.
This is an important day to vote. Make your voice heard today before the polls close at 7 PM.

U.S. servicemembers and innocents are paying the ultimate price for an attack that should never have been launched, and all of us are less safe because of this recklessness.
[2/2] Now he has launched us into a protracted war with no imminent danger from Iran and which is not in our national interest. With the number of American deaths already growing, Trump callously proclaims “that’s the way it is.”
[1/3] Rubio confirms that, like last year’s attack on Iran, Trump was just too weak to tell Netanyahu NO, as George W. Bush had done. Trump talks tough, brandishes military might, but cannot stand up to strongmen whether Netanyahu or Putin.
Instead of exhausting every nonviolent alternative, Trump quickly turned to the military and launched a war with Iran. His recklessness is costing American lives, innocent civilians, taxpayer $, and possibly any hope for a lasting peace and free democratic society in Iran. @nickkristof.bsky.social
[2/2] It will serve as a celebration of the Texan spirit here in our nation’s capital.
[1/2] On this Texas Independence Day, we commemorate the spirit and resilience of Texans. The “Republic of Texas Legation Memorial Act” which I successfully authored in 2020, honors the historic delegation of Texans who came to Washington as diplomats to negotiate our joining the Union.
[2/2] Miraculously, those troops survived, but many more won’t as Trump continues his war with Iran. No plan, no end in sight, and no Congressional authorization for this reckless and costly action.
[1/2] As Trump callously proclaims “That’s the way it is” while affirming more Americans will die in his war of choice, another reported death of a courageous servicemember and close encounters as three jets are destroyed by friendly fire.
[2/2] Many more deaths lie ahead, despite broad opposition by the American people, unless Congress acts immediately to adopt the War Powers Resolution.
[1/2] There are no greater decisions demanded of leaders than those of war and peace. Trump has proven himself unfit for those deliberations.
His reckless, illegal war of choice in Iran has already led to the death of U.S. servicemembers and elementary school students.
At least three brave servicemembers and their families have made the ultimate sacrifice in Trump’s war of choice in Iran.
More American lives will inevitably be lost as Trump and Netanyahu further destabilize the most dangerous region on Earth and provoke retribution from the terrorist IRGC.
