Trump’s tariffs are putting thousands of Washington jobs at risk, & Republicans continue doing nothing about it. Families, businesses, & workers shouldn’t lose their jobs because of reckless & shortsighted policies.
Great to tour the BRIDGE Housing Spring District Project, built with support from the Low Income Housing Tax Credit. LIHTC is one of our best tools to create affordable housing, & I’ll keep working to ensure families have a safe, stable place to call home.
My colleague @jayapal.house.gov, who champions nonviolent protest & advocacy, received a death threat from an elected official. This is appalling & dangerous. People with different political views are not our enemies, & we cannot let calls for violence become the norm.

Trump is weaponizing the justice system to target his enemies. This corrupt abuse of power undermines our rule of law & makes every American less safe.

The Trump admin is going to make it harder for Washington seniors & Medicare beneficiaries to get the health care they need by putting new prior authorization requirements in place & using AI to deny services. I’m urging the admin to stop this half-baked plan.

Republicans are refusing to negotiate with Democrats over funding the government & are threatening a shutdown that would raise costs & take away health care. Working families can’t afford this chaos. It’s time to get back to DC & deliver solutions for the American people. @newdems.bsky.social
Instead of working with Democrats to avoid a shutdown, Trump is doubling down on illegally slashing services families rely on. His plan means layoffs, higher health care costs, & Americans unable to access basic federal programs like Social Security, Medicare, & Medicaid.
🚍⚡ Exciting day in Redmond celebrating 4 new electric school buses for Lake Washington School District! These green buses will help students get to school while cutting emissions!
Great to tour Centro Cultural Mexicano, learn more about their work, & see their upcoming Hispanic Heritage Month Art Exhibition opening Thursday. From cultural events to youth programs, they’re making a real difference in our community.
Thank you to the teachers & school leaders who joined my educator forum last night to discuss the challenges our schools face & how I can support them at the federal level. I’m going to continue working to ensure our classrooms have what they need to help our kids excel.
Kimmel’s back—proof that public pressure can make a difference. But folks in our region won’t be able to watch tonight because KOMO’s owner, Sinclair, refuses to air the show on its ABC stations.
It’s corporate cowardice to censor programming just because the president doesn’t like it.
BREAKING: Trump cancels a meeting with the Democratic leaders in Congress. He doesn't want to negotiate about government funding or the Republican health care crisis. He is leading us into a government shutdown.

Fat Bear Week kicks off Sept. 23. 🐻🍂 We’re lucky to have incredible wildlife in the Pacific Northwest & it’s important to keep protecting these habitats for generations to come. Vote here: explore.org/fat-bear-week.
Political violence has no place in our democracy. We must come together—regardless of party—to condemn it.
When Canadians stop visiting WA because of Trump’s tariffs & antagonism, local shops, restaurants & workers feel it. Our communities depend on strong cross-border travel.
Republican cuts to public health, medical research, & Apple Health are already forcing hospitals in our region to cut jobs. This will only get worse if enhanced subsidies for WA Health Benefits Exchange expire at the end of the year.
I voted NO on House Republicans’ damaging funding bill. It fails to protect our health care system & would lead to premiums going up by 65% next year for Washingtonians who get coverage on WA Health Plan Finder. We must keep fighting to lower costs & ensure everyone has access to quality care.
Trump put a 50% tariff on Brazil because he’s upset they convicted his buddy Bolsonaro for staging a coup. Now Americans are paying more for coffee & beef. You shouldn’t have to foot the bill for his personal retribution against an important U.S partner.
