Trump: "We're not cutting Medicaid." Also Trump: Signs the largest Medicaid cut in history into law.   There’s no Democratic “wish list.” We just want Trump to keep his promise: repeal the cuts and lower costs.
UPDATE: While it shouldn't have taken this long for the Senate to look into Trump’s egregious abuse of our military, I have secured a hearing to investigate his deployments of troops into our cities— And I’ll be asking tough questions of the Trump Administration when it happens.
Trump is forcing the military to our cities, intimidating Americans and distracting troops from their core missions. It's unconstitutional—we can't act like it's business as usual. I'm blocking the NDAA until we secure a hearing to investigate this gross abuse of our military.

Trump is moving us closer to authoritarianism with each deployment of troops into states. From Illinois to Oregon to California— None of our states asked for this, nor need this. I and every U.S. Senator from these states are demanding Trump to end these deployments ASAP.
I cherished every day I got to call myself a Soldier—but ordering troops to intimidate the very Americans they sacrifice to protect doesn’t make us safer.   Trump is wasting millions to terrorize citizens exercising their First Amendment rights. It's wrong.
In addition to kicking 250,000+ Veterans off their health coverage, don't forget: Trump fired more Veterans than any other President and is hellbent on firing thousands of VA workers as well. He doesn't care about Veterans or middle-class families. He only cares about himself.
If my Republican colleagues fail to work with us, 267,000 veterans will lose their health care, according to a new report from the Urban Institute. These are Americans who put their lives on the line for our nation, who will be priced out of health care if Congress doesn’t act.
Trump: "I will immediately bring prices down, starting on Day One." Also Trump: Refuses to stop health insurance premiums from bankrupting the middle class   Democrats just want Trump to keep his promises.
We have the Insurrection Act for a reason— But it's not so a President with 34 felonies can ignore court orders and punish cities he doesn't like with military intimidation. Especially not when the courts are telling him his claims of insurrection are "untethered to the facts."
Trump "We have an Insurrection Act for a reason. If I had to enact it, I'd to that ... if courts were holding us up or governors or mayors were holding us up, sure, I'd do that."
We have not called for this. We do not need this. Donald Trump is pitting sovereign states against one another in effort to consolidate his own power at the expense of our constitutional rights— An egregious abuse of power. He is pushing us closer to authoritarianism.
This evening, President Trump is ordering 400 members of the Texas National Guard for deployments to Illinois, Oregon, and other locations within the United States. No officials from the federal government called me directly to discuss or coordinate.
Trump is federalizing the National Guard in Illinois against our will— An affront to American values and an extreme abuse of our military. He’s terrorizing citizens in attempt to expand his power and punish opponents. That’s just not who we are. It’s authoritarian.
With ACA tax credits, a 60-year-old couple making $85,000 pays ~$7,000 for their annual premium. Without ACA tax credits, the same couple could be forced to pay nearly $30,000. I know Republicans only speak "billionaire"—but middle-class families can't afford this.
You're right, Donald. We’re not stupid. When you broke your promise to protect Medicaid by enacting a $1 trillion cut, you sold out hospitals and health coverage for millions. Democrats just want you to keep your promise. Repeal the cuts.
Trump Truth social post: “I have a meeting today with Russ Vought, he of Project 2025 Fame, to determine which of the many Democrats Agencies, most of which are a political SCAM, he recommends to be cut, and whether or not those cuts will be temporary or permanent. I can’t believe the Radical Left Democrats gave me this unprecedented opportunity. They are not stupid people, so maybe this is their way of wanting to, quietly and quickly, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! President DJT
Using American cities as "training grounds for our military" isn’t just intrinsically un-American, it's unconstitutional.
More like a tin-pot dictator than a President every day.
Trump to top military officials: "I told Pete, we should use some of these dangerous cities as training grounds for our military. National Guard, but our military. Because we're going into Chicago very soon. That's a big city with an incompetent governor. Stupid governor."
Even Donald Trump once said, "a shutdown falls on the President’s lack of leadership." Well, choosing to shut down rather than save health care is one of the biggest failures in leadership imaginable.
Fact: Undocumented immigrants are not even eligible to purchase the ACA coverage we’re trying to protect. Republicans voted to hike costs and take health care away from American citizens. Including their own constituents. Read that again. Over and over.
